From THINK PROGRESS:
Reince Priebus just became the 65th Chairman of the RNC by garnering 97 votes in the seventh round of voting. After the fourth vote, Michael Steele dropped out of the running and said, “It’s very clear that the party wants to do something different.”
Gee, nuthin’ gets by Michael Phathead Steele.

We’ve focused on comic book and book covers, and today I thought we’d concentrate on the characters. When I was little, I always read Blondie comics, and my favorite characters were Dagwood and his boss, Mr. Dithers. I did a bit of a update during the Chimpy administration years. Here’s Chimpy with his boss, Deadeye Dick Cheney (with an appearance at the end by Laura Pickles Bush and Barney). Of course, Deadeye Dick never dithered…

Hey, kids,it seems that these days, everyone is getting a book deal. I thought we’d take a look back at some books of the recent past. There’s been a lot of talk lately about WikiLeaks, but where was all the Rethuglican hanky-wringing when Scooter Libby outed Valerie Plame, a covert CIA agent? They want to string up Julian Assange, but they seemed to be just fine when Chimpy commuted Scooterpie’s sentence, because Scootie has “suffered enough“…

From VANITY FAIR:
The race for the absolute top-spot in Republican fundraising is heating up this week, as contenders for the Republican National Committee chairmanship seem more eager than ever to oust the organization’s current head, Michael Steele. Yesterday, at a debate organized by a Tea Party group, four likely contenders for the chair denounced Steele’s spotty record of fiscal and fundraising mismanagement. While it remains to be seen whether Steele will seek a second term, many of his presumptive adversaries have already formally declared their intentions to depose him.
I don’t know about you, kids, but I think Michael Phathead Steele should run again and should be reelected. Why? Glad you asked. For one thing, nobody can rock a Carmen Miranda hat like Phathead…
The Rethuglicans are always trying to reach out to the Hispanic population, and how could they not love that?

Hey, kids, Chanukah starts tonight, and the War on Christmas is just around the corner, so those of you who still have jobs, can afford to buy some presents, and have a few Rethuglican kids on your gift list, you might want to start thinking about what kind of toys you might want to purchase. Well, you know that I’m always here to help! This afternoon, I visited a store with lots of different toys to choose from…
How much more American can you get than fast food? Just don’t have to get all bent out of shape over condiments like Laura Ingraham, Sean Hannity, and Mark Steyn do…

From THINK PROGRESS:
In his post-election press conference this afternoon, President Barack Obama strongly rejected the idea that Republicans received a mandate to enforce their policies, despite their electoral gains, saying that “no person, no party has a monopoly on wisdom. … No one party will be able to dictate where we go from here. We must find common ground in order to make progress on some uncommonly difficult challenges.”
