Cosmetic Counters Don’t Have this Much Cover-up!

From Time:

If the White House did nothing improper in the controversial firing of eight U.S. Attorneys last year, why would top officials in the Justice Department, perhaps including Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, have tried to conceal its role in the dismissals?

Original movie poster.

Al Fredo will be testifying Thursday before the House Judiciary Committee. Wheeeee!!!!

    From the c-span website:
    “Atty. Gen. Gonzales Testifies
    The investigation into the firing
of eight U.S. Attorneys continues. On Thursday, Attorney. General Alberto Gonzales appears before the House Judiciary Cmte., chair-
ed by Rep. John Conyers (D-MI). This hearing follows the appearance of former Dpty. A.G. James Comey, who testified before the Cmte. on May 3.

the fun never ends!! there is a new guy named nowacki (i’m thinking yes wacky!!) who is the new monica goodling.
    chicago tribune:
“John Nowackiโ€”who had limited courtroom experience when he was promoted into a senior position overseeing federal prosecutorsโ€”has quietly played a key role in the campaign to contain the fallout. That campaign, as much as the dismissals themselves, has crippled the department and threatens to topple Gonzales.”
this is better than any tv show! i can’t wait to see what happens next!

  3. That’s a not very good link – requires registration.
Here’s a better one (no registration):
John Nowacki sounds like a made up name.

Here’s my contribution from the Seattle Times:
“Two former U.S. attorneys said today they believe ongoing investigations into the dismissals last year of eight federal prosecutors could result in criminal charges against senior Justice Department officials.

John McKay, the former U.S. attorney for Western Washington, and David Iglesias, the former U.S. attorney for New Mexico, also said they believe White House political operative Karl Rove and his aides instigated the dismissals and ultimately decided who among the nation’s 93 U.S. attorneys should be fired. But the White House on Wednesday flatly denied the firings were instigated by the White House.”

  4. Hey!!
    This guy
was on to John Nowacki 6 weeks ago!

Have a look at his post, lots of fun ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜†

    great find, mighty mikk0mouse!!
i don’t know why the chic trib link doesn’t work. i admit that it is quite unsightly, sticking out into the white space like that, but the article opened immediately for me and still does. veddy strange. remind me next time to use tinyurl so it doesn’t look so messy in here.

  7. Hello Nonnie!! ๐Ÿ˜€
Your link to Chic. Trib. works fine as a link. Don’t mind that it sticks out, as long as it sticks out into white space and not into the right hand menu column ๐Ÿ™‚

No, the prob with the link is that it takes you to a Chic. Trib. page which says, “If you want to read the article, first you have fill out all these boxes and register “.

Reason why you did not have to register on that page is because you registered before?? … or because of your magic program that provides pre registered username/password combinations??

  8. Friend of the court

I don’t see how these peabrains can expect to cover up anything. They keep saying that they can’t remember what, when or why they did what they don’t recall remembering doing, or not. The only thing they are sure about is that whatever they may or may not have done, is legal and they don’t understand what all the fuss is about.

    hi fotc!
what gets me are the peabrains who still support these peabrains.

  10. Friend of the court

What the hell are they thinking? Are they that frightened? Are they so afraid that they are comforted by the deaths of strangers? There is a shift now to fear of immagrants. The peabrains, that it is my misfortune to know, seem to have moved on. Very short attention spans but, the fear is constant.

i just watched part of the hearing (missed the best parts, so waiting for them to show it again). it seems the new strategery is to change the subject.
i think that we should get to pick a new attorney general a la american idol. start out with 10 people picked at random. we get to vote by phone or on the internets until only one is left. whoever we get will be better than this moron.
