Lavatory Glory

From the Associated Press:

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Sen. Larry Craig has been chosen for induction into the Idaho Hall of Fame, despite his well-publicized arrest and guilty plea in an airport sex sting, officials said.

The nonprofit Idaho Hall of Fame Association picked Craig in March, months before he pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct after a Minneapolis airport police officer accused him of soliciting sex in the men’s restroom, the organization’s board chairman said.

“Larry Craig has made a great contribution to Idaho over the period of 20-some years. At the time it was considered, this other matter had not come up,” Harry Magnuson told The Spokesman-Review newspaper Saturday.

But some Republicans said the honor is inappropriate now. Kootenai County Republican precinct committeeman Phil Thompson said Idaho Hall of Fame officials should consider at least postponing the induction.

“Maybe in 10 or 15 years we can think of this hall of fame stuff. Now is not the time,” he said. “It’s a sad day to be a Republican.”

Well, it was sure public minded for him to pick tissue up off the floor, next to a public toilet. But, shouldn’t the People of Minnisota be the ones to honor him for that good deed? Maybe, the Idaho Folks can add a new category for the wall of fame. And, I think that your cover should be displayed there. There might even be a scrap of tissue.

If Idaho was going to do it right, they’d put that piece of tissue under glass on a gold plate. There’d be an inscription discussing Craig’s selfless public service to the cause of public littering in airport bathrooms. Maybe they could even put a used condom in there, too. Lord knows somebody needs to be picking those things up……

Has he been sentenced? It might be a good work detail for Larry. He would have to be closely monitored, though.

not only does this great man worry about littering and the cleanliness of public bathrooms, but he is a uniter, not a divider. he wants to take down the walls that separate us. he is so inspiring! i think your ideas are great, fotc and gotta. who do we write to?

Harry Magnuson might be willing to consider suggestions. Sounds like he’s stuck between a rock and a urinal cake.

i think it is very magnanimous for harry magnuson to ignore things that might have come up since the time of consideration.

  7. Friend of the court

It’s good that he is taking a wide, err, I mean strong stand behind Craig. Republicans might be stingy about a lot of things but, they seem very generous with their ignoreance.

rethugs are very good at that. i think it is due to halliburton buying that factory that manufactures blinders.
