Is It a First for a Second to Have Taken the Fifth?
Wowza, kids!! Not only is Monica Goodling set to testify (did you mark your calendars like I told you to do?), but now there is a new Bushie Bimbo in the crosshairs, and she is pleading the fifth, too! Yay!!!
From Bloomberg:
Susan Ralston, former executive assistant to presidential adviser Karl Rove, is seeking immunity from prosecution before testifying about any knowledge she has of contacts between administration officials and lobbyist Jack Abramoff, a House committee disclosed yesterday.
Representative Henry Waxman, chairman of the House Oversight Committee, said the panel will seek information elsewhere before deciding whether to grant Ralston’s request, according to a memo to committee members on the panel’s Web site.
Before working for Rove, Ralston was an assistant to Abramoff, who is in jail for pleading guilty to conspiracy to corrupt public officials, mail fraud and tax evasion.

Frustrated over the apparent political firing of U.S. attorneys, among other things, Democratic Sens. Chuck Schumer of New York and Dianne Feinstein of California announced last week that they would seek to hold a no-confidence vote about Gonzales on the floor of the Senate.

Reps. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) and Artur Davis (D-Ala.) introduced a resolution Monday urging President Bush to fire Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.

Mark Your Calendars, Kids!!
Wednesday, May 23rd!!! What’s Wednesday, May 23rd? Well, it’s the day my car payment is due, but that’s not what’s important. It’s also the day that Monica Goodling testifies before the House Judiciary Committee!!! Do you have any idea what this means? Well, for one thing, I will have a lot more pictures of her to play around with. But, almost as good as that, she has been granted limited immunity, so she could very well seal the fate of her boss, Alberto Stick-A-Fork-In-Me-I’m-Done Gonzales and, perhaps, Karl My-Fingerprints-Are-All-Over-This Rove!
