Why, That So-and-So!

From ABC News (March 19, 2008):

Five years after the start of the war in Iraq, Vice President Dick Cheney offered a positive assessment of the current situation and called last year’s troop surge a “major success.”

“On the security front, I think there’s a general consensus that we’ve made major progress, that the surge has worked. That’s been a major success,” Cheney told ABC News’ Martha Raddatz during an exclusive interview in Oman.

When asked how that assessment comports with recent polls that show about two-thirds of Americans say the fight in Iraq is not worth it, Cheney replied, “So?”

Also from ABC News (March 24, 2008):

In an exclusive interview with ABC News, Vice President Dick Cheney was asked what effect the grim milestone of at least 4,000 U.S. deaths in the five-year Iraq war might have on the nation.

“It obviously brings home I think for a lot of people the cost that’s involved in the global war on terror in Iraq and Afghanistan,” Cheney said in the interview, conducted in Turkey. “It places a special burden obviously on the families, and we recognize, I think — it’s a reminder of the extent to which we are blessed with families who’ve sacrificed as they have.”

“The president carries the biggest burden, obviously,” Cheney said. “He’s the one who has to make the decision to commit young Americans, but we are fortunate to have a group of men and women, the all-volunteer force, who voluntarily put on the uniform and go in harm’s way for the rest of us.”

Sound familiar?

Well, Cheney was, “too busy”, to go to Vietnam but, he did volunteer to be the “Fourth Branch”. If he keeps making statements like this, he won’t even be able to get soldiers to come to his speeches. He will have to start making videos, like Osama.

the bottom line is that he just doesn’t give a damn, fotc. he doesn’t care what anyone else thinks. he doesn’t care that people died and are going to die because of the decisions he made. there is something missing from his psyche. he is completely devoid of empathy. he’s a sociopath or something.
