Forgive me for feeling a bit nostaglic, but it’s our anniversary! Hysterical Raisins started with Chimpy in Charge a year ago today. Well, it actually started with another name (don’t ask me, I forgot what it was), but it was changed to Hysterical Raisins shortly thereafter. Mikk0 and I collaborated on a spoof of an IMDb page, and we somehow wound up with a blog!
I thought I would look through the past 343 posts and pick out some of the posters that had special meaning to me, that didn’t get a lot of attention, or that represented important or just plain ridiculous events over the past year. I was going to try to fit them into one image, but I wound up with two. I hope you will forgive me.

If torture doesn’t stink, why does Mike McConnell have to hold his nose?
LONDON (AP) — One of the United States’ top judges said in an interview broadcast in Britain on Tuesday that interrogators can inflict pain to obtain critical information about an imminent terrorist threat.
Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia said that aggressive interrogation could be appropriate to learn where a bomb was hidden shortly before it was set to explode or to discover the plans or whereabouts of a terrorist group.
“It seems to me you have to say, as unlikely as that is, it would be absurd to say you couldn’t, I don’t know, stick something under the fingernail, smack him in the face. It would be absurd to say you couldn’t do that,” Scalia told British Broadcasting Radio Corp.

Gov. Mike Huckabee, vastly outspent so far in his bid for the presidency, has turned for funding to a controversial televangelist who is under active Senate investigation. Late last month, Gov. Huckabee held a fundraiser at the Texas estate of millionaire televangelist Kenneth Copeland, his spokesman tells NBC News.
The U.S. Senate currently is investigating Copeland, and five other televangelists, amid allegations that they are improperly using millions in charitable donations for their personal benefit, and, in the process, fleecing their flock. Copeland and the other televangelists have strongly denied those allegations.
