The Raisin Gives This Movie a Thumbs Down

From THINK PROGRESS:

– Newt Gingrich is using the September 11th anniversary to unveil a new movie called “America At Risk,” which Gingrich says will drive the “national dialogue” about President Obama’s failure to address the rise of “Radical Islam” and its attempt to impose Sharia law on the United States. Gingrich’s website notes that the public can “pre-order your copy now for just $19.95 plus $4 shipping.”

Original DVD cover
(Front row, l to r: John Bolton, Callista Gingrich, Newt Gingrich. Back row, l to r: Michael Chertoff, David Bossie, Frank Gaffney, Michael Ledeen.)

Trailer is at THINK PROGRESS link.

I don’t want to link over to Newtie’s website, so I’ll paraphrase what he and Wifey the Third had to say.

First, they announce that their crappy movie (which, by the way is subtitled The War With No Name) will be premiering on September 11th at the Nauseum, excuse me that should be Newseum in Washington, DC. It is to remind you to be afraid every single waking minute!

They made the movie with David Bossie (you know, the guy who hates Hillary Clinton), Kevin Knoblock (who apparently has access to movie cameras), and all the kids at Citizens United, who all want you to be afraid every single waking minute!

Then there’s a bunch of stuff about how our enemies are gonna get us, because Kenyan Moslem Barack Obama, Attorney General Eric Holder, and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano refuse to all the buzz words that Newtie wants them to use. Not only that, Obama and Holder are black, so you should be afraid every single waking minute! (Newtie and #3 didn’t write that, but it was implied).

In the movie, there are interviews with Bernard Lewis, Michael Skeletor Chertoff, John Batshit Crazy Walrus Bolton, Frank Gaffney, and Michael Ledeen so they can tell us to be afraid every single waking moment (and it wouldn’t hurt if you have some nightmares, too). I betcha they use all the required vernacular, like jihad, Radical Islamists (make sure you capitalize Radical, so they’ll be scarier), Sharia law, etc. They even found a token Muslim guy, Dr. Zuhdi Jasser, to remind you to be afraid every single waking moment!

They diss the “leftwing elites” like Mayor Michael Bloomberg, because he didn’t scream, tear out his hair, and decry the incident of the failed bomb in Times Square as the work of Jihadist Radical Islamic Sharia-lovin’ terrorists before the investigation was complete. Apparently, the lefty elitists don’t know enough to be afraid every single waking minute!

So, kids, that’s it in a nutshell. I read it, so you don’t have to. You’re welcome.

  1. yeah, i’m late again, kids. things are hectic around here.

  2. Reading a Gingrich site? That’s way above and beyond the call of duty, you know …

I started to write “I don’t know why people still listen to that jerk.”

But, you know, I do. He seeks out the worst traits in people and appeals to them, because he knows that they’re viscerally appealing.

Have I ever mentioned (here) that Newt Gingrich is one the biggest reasons why I quit being a Republican? After the 1994 “Character Counts” campaign, that piece of slime was made Speaker. That, combined with Jesse Helms being made Foreign Relations chair and Bob Packwood getting the Banking Committee told me that character didn’t count. I left the GOP in January of 1995.

Has anyone noticed that while we’re being threatened with Sharia law … ummmm … the US has so much respect for religious laws these days that blue laws have been rolled back pretty much everywhere? Do you really think that American women are going to start wearing veils?

We’re going to ban alcohol and pork?

Can you imagine an effort to get Americans to fast for a month?

If there weren’t millions of people buying into this crap, it would be funny.

    • i think newt gingrich is an evil, selfish man. i don’t think he cares about anyone or anything other than himself. he’ll do anything to hang on to power, and he doesn’t care how many other people get hurt as a result.

  3. “’Radical Islam’ and its attempt to impose Sharia law on the United States.”

Substitute “communism” for “Islam” and “Socialism” for “Sharia Law” and it’s the 1950s and 1960s all over again. The GOP may have an imagination, but they have no creativity.

  4. Also, “the ‘leftwing elites’ like Mayor Michael Bloomberg”

LOL, a Republican billionaire as a member of the ‘leftwing elite’–that’s a good one.

    • if the goopers had any creativity, they wouldn’t constantly go back to newtie and the bushes for inspiration.

bloomberg is as rich as hell, and he still rides the subway every day. what an elitist!

  5. If I am afraid every waking moment, should I be sleeping with one eye open to be on the safe side? You captured the plastic essense of #3 perfectly. One wrinkle and she’s toast! Of course the Grinch is angry now that his b/j quotient is lagging. Just look what it did to Tiger, he can’t even find his balls these days. No, I can’t buy this DVD. Waiting for a remake of Raisin in the Sun featuring the machinations of buying out the Park 51 developer. Trump is already auditioning.

    • to be on the safe side, you really shouldn’t sleep at all. after a couple of days with no sleep, you’ll start hallucinating, and you’ll see the world that newtie and his buddies want you to see.

#3 makes cindy lou mccain look downright animated! #3 probably has mattel stamped on her ass, just like mittsie romney does.

Well I for one AM very afraid. Afraid of self-aggrandizing idiots who go for the visceral gut of the haters, American Christian Taliban and “the constitution is composed only of the 2nd amendment” types who have become the teabaggers. They haven’t learned that if you play with fire you will get burned.

  7. I’m apparently one of those people who aren’t smart enough to realize I need to be scared of every waking minute. That’s okay, though, I’d rather it this way so I can enjoy my life here on Earth, or am I really somewhere else? Don’t answer that, I’m content.

How about Newtie telling the truth and calling the Tea Party date movie “America At Risk (From Stupid People)” and subtitle it (“Blow Jobs and No Shame”)?
