From MEDIA MATTERS:
Right-wing media figures are attacking Fox News’ Karl Rove for “trashing” Christine O’Donnell after her victory in the Delaware GOP Senate primary, stating that his comments were “disgraceful” and that Rove “came across as an effete sore loser.”
Rove: O’Donnell will have to explain “checkered background”; she does not “evince the characteristics of rectitude and truthfulness and sincerity and character.” On the September 14 edition of Fox News’ Hannity, Rove said: “One thing that Christine O’Donnell is now going to have to answer in the general election that she didn’t have to answer in the primary is her own checkered background.” He later said: “I’ve met her. I’m not — I’ve got to tell you, I wasn’t, frankly, impressed as her, you know, abilities as a candidate. And again, these serious questions about how does she make her living, why did she mislead voters about her college education, how come it took her nearly two decades to pay her college bill so she could get her college degree. How does she make a living? Why did she sue a well-known and well-thought-of conservative think tank?”
…snip…
SEAN HANNITY (host): I interviewed her, and I felt her explanations were far more plausible than what was played up.
ROVE: Did you ask her about the people who were following her home to her headquarters, and how she’s checked each night in the bushes? Did you ask her – I mean, there are just a lot of nutty things she’s been saying that just simply don’t add up.
…snip…
In a September 14 post, [Michelle] Malkin wrote that Rove “trash[ed]” O’Donnell during the Hannity segment and he “[m]ight as well have been [Keith] Olbermann on MSNBC.” Malkin later wrote that “Rove came across as an effete sore loser instead of the supposedly brilliant and grounded GOP strategist that he’s supposed to be.”
…snip…
In a September 14 Gateway Pundit post titled, “The Veracity of Karl Rove’s Political Analysis is Suddenly Suspect,” [Warner Todd] Huston cited the Freedomist post and wrote: “Rove is certainly entitled to his opinion and if he truly believes that O’Donnell cannot win in the general, then he should feel free to say so and we should accept it as such. But in this case we have a problem believing that Rove’s analysis is simply his honest opinion when we find out from The Freedomist that Rove was trying to cut a pre-primary deal to help Mike Castle to win the primary.”
…snip…
In a September 14 post on his blog, Dan Riehl called Rove’s comments “disgraceful” and also cited the Freedomist post to claim that “Fox should suspend him and investigate” and that “it seems impossible to trust Rove as an objective analyst.”
…snip…
In a September 15 RedState post, Erick Erickson wrote: “It is a delightful morning. The National Republican Senatorial Committee and the GOP Establishment, including Karl Rove in full on meltdown last night on Fox News, has been beaten yet again in Delaware by the supposedly crazy girl from the fringe who could not possibly take out the 12 time elected Republican Mike Castle.”
…snip…
In a September 15 Twitter post, right-wing radio host Mark Levin stated he would discuss Rove’s “was against the Tea Party movement and conservatives”[…]
…snip…
On the September 15 edition of MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Pat Buchanan stated: “This is going to be a crucial test of how the Republican Party handles the tea party. And what we heard Karl Rove say, really trashing this woman, is a horrible mistake.”
…snip…
In a September 14 post, NewsBusters’ Mark Finkelstein wrote: “Even after Fox News called the Delaware GOP senatorial primary for Christine O’Donnell tonight, Karl Rove continued to rip the winner, questioning everything from O’Donnell’s ‘rectitude’ to her ‘character.’ “
Who wants to chip in for condiments they can use as they eat their own?
I will bring the salsa!!!!! I thought Rover was supposed to be a talking head, not a friggin cheerleader for the Rethugs. Silly me….
salsa! perfect! this is what turdblossom said after he had the poop slung at him (from cbs news):
he needs to reread his contract!
Oh right, here’s a newsflash, Turdblossom is a scuzzy, lying asswipe. They sure weren’t saying that when he was conducting is dirty tricks to keep the rethugs in power.
I hope they all enjoy the stench together.
he’s a scuzzy lying asswipe, but i think he accidentally let the truth come out when he was talking about little chrissie. if he said that, then i would bet that there’s plenty of dirt he knows about her that hasn’t come to light yet.
Awesome headline! Sexy potted plant there on the poster, but that thing in green! Terrifying.
Limbaugh had a freakout, too. Hahahahaha.
i know! i’ll have nightmares about that thing in green tonight.
Who’s natural frowny face looks that fucking evil?
her picture is next to ferbissiner in the dictionary.
And you know what worst part is? While you’re having nightmares, there are wingnut men who are having wet dreams over her. Speaking of which, check out what I wrote in my personal blog about Princess Sarah.

took me a while to finish reading it, neon vincent (doing a half dozen things at the same time). i love it when you’re bitchy! π
Thanks. I decided to post it as a diary on the Big Orange.

been there, rec’ed that. π
Thank you!
i left the perfect song by the perfect group for you. i’ll put it here, too, for all the raisinettes.
They don’t deserve condiments, even if any condiment existed capable of making them palatable. Let them taste each rancid, redolent morsel, in preparation for the meal of crow which Delaware voters will surely serve them in November. They may persuade unwary electorates to swallow Paul or even Angle, but Miss No Adventures is a dish even the most desperate diner would send back.
very true, infidel, they don’t deserve condiments. however, the tastier they are, the faster they’ll eat their own, and we’ll be rid of them. of course, i won’t be able to resist the temptation to put some tabasco sauce and cayenne pepper in the ketchup. π
“Out of the night came an anguished scream–
Someone put sand in the Vaseline!”
I must say that at first glance your headline, with it’s implication of “fertilizing” Karl Rove, brought an altogether more disturbing and repulsive picture to mind…..
π i’m sorry, infidel! i didn’t mean to scare ya, hon!
instead of sand in the vaseline, let’s fill their k-y jelly tubes with ben-gay. we’ll see who among the abstinence crowd is lying. π
Given the depths of depravity in the GOP, some of them might like that.
it might make them believe in global warming! π
Hard to keep up with the descention but it sure is great comic relief. Even have fatboy giving us Three Bears stories. One TV pundit even suggested today the bagger faction may develop enough ego in victories this cycle to go into 2012 and nominate their own candidate outside the gopers.
let them nominate their own candidate. they’ll only draw from the rethugs.
Let the fun begin! Nothing like a good ol GOP catfight.
too bad they never last long, because they’re all afraid of rushbo. rove couldn’t pucker up his lips quickly enough.
how quickly he retracted when King Rush opened his anus……..
so lying in the name of power is OK. and the completely brain dead people who watch Fox like it is cocaine fall for it…..
i cannot believe how much i hate them all
i think this cements who the true head of the rethug party is. it will be interesting when rushbo and jim demented demint, king of the teabaggers, go toe to toe. neither one will want to be in the #2 spot.
βshe does not ‘evince the characteristics of rectitude and truthfulness and sincerity and character.’β
It looks like Rove is saying that she’s so bad she can’t fake being good. As if actually being all that is a qualification to be a GOP politician, when in reality O’Donnell will fit right in.
Looks like New York Magazine took a page from you. Remember this entry and the photomanip you did for it?

Well, N.Y. Mag now has a tag for Little Chrissie’s embarrassing post.
http://nymag.com/tags/the%20new%20adventures%20of%20old%20christine
That will be a tag worth watching.
That should be “past” not “post.”
yeah, they get their best stuff from me! π i returned the favor, and i used one of their articles for tonight’s post.
Wow.
Rove actually helped make this bed … the idea that criticizing anyone makes you their enemy. (On my theme that these “Reagan conservatives” wouldn’t like Reagan … didn’t he say something about 80% allies not being 20% enemies?)
I happen to have set up some pretty decent mild salsa from the garden this year. I’ll bring it to the party while the wackos try to kick each other out of the tent.
At what point does a tent become so small that it has to be called something else?
A tent that holds a single person is still a tent–a pup tent, but a tent nonetheless.
i suspect that a lot of rethugs want power so desperately to make up for their very, very, very, very teeny tiny tents.
don’t waste the good salsa on them, wken. we’ll get some from the backs of everyone’s refrigerators. we should send karl a thank-you note for writing chris coons’s campaign commercial.
Those 4 attributes: Rectitude, Truthfulness, Sincerity and Character? Since when did anyone in the GOP have them, since maybe Lincoln? Rove should be struck down by lightning for even SAYING those words! Someone who made a joke, along with asshole Dubya, about our soldiers in the Iraq War-And started by a pack of lies! Excuse me, but J. F’n. C. how did these people and their electorate get so goddamn stupid?!! I refudiate all their propaganda and am baffled by the idiocy and hypocrisy!
karl rove helped greatly to make the rethuglican party what it is today. he pushed the fundie crap with chimpy, and now he’s crying in his beer? he’s got chutzpah.
