That’s the way the cookie bumbles

From BBC:

US President Donald Trump has said he would be “honoured” to meet North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, in the right circumstances.

“If it would be appropriate for me to meet with him, I would – absolutely. I would be honoured to do it,” he told news organisation Bloomberg on Monday.

The previous day he described Mr Kim as a “pretty smart cookie”.

The comments come amid escalating tensions over North Korea’s nuclear programme.

In Sunday’s interview with CBS, President Trump noted Mr Kim had assumed power at a young age, despite dealing with “some very tough people”.

He said he had “no idea” whether Mr Kim was sane.

The North Korean leader had his uncle executed two years after he came to power, and is suspected of ordering the recent killing of his half-brother.

President Trump, asked what he made of the North Korean leader, told CBS: “People are saying: ‘Is he sane?’ I have no idea… but he was a young man of 26 or 27… when his father died. He’s dealing with obviously very tough people, in particular the generals and others.

“And at a very young age, he was able to assume power. A lot of people, I’m sure, tried to take that power away, whether it was his uncle or anybody else. And he was able to do it. So obviously, he’s a pretty smart cookie.”

On Saturday North Korea conducted its second failed ballistic missile test in two weeks.

Oy vey.

  1. The orange dingbat, it seems, has never met a despot he doesn’t like. And look how much he and Kim have in common. Kim talks up his failed weapons tests like Trump talks up his failed crowd sizes and legislative record. He’s the only national leader with an equally awful hairstyle. And people in North Korea get shot for things like watching foreign movies — a repudiation of First Amendment values such as Trump can only dream of.

Anyway, “smart cookie” isn’t much of a compliment coming from a Trump steak well past its sell-by date and gone distinctly rancid.

    • What strikes me about them is how similar their unbringing was. Both raised by wealthy men with power who associated with a lot of bad guys (in Daddy Twitler’s case, the mob and dirty politicians) and threatened anyone who did not agree with them. A title (in Kim’s case) and a Rolodex of politicians who could be paid off (in Twiter’s case) are the only things that either one could list as talents.

  2. I’m not sure if I have words anymore about Model T and his crazy Twittering’s or his intentions. It would be good to get on Jong’s good side but that’s highly improbable.

Trump’s latest public efforts and so called rally was to keep his rabid supporters happy and to satisfy his need for attention and adulation.

Jong and Model T have an insatiable desire for power, submission from their underlings and a need for approval.

There is no way in hell to know what he is or is not going to do in an effort to attain some form of diplomacy with North Korea. Frankly Jong does not want to be friendly with the US. He just wants to destroy us because we divided his country.

    • I don’t want to be on the good side of a piece of shit like that! He’s a crazy asshole who doesn’t give a shit about his own people. He’s not mad because we divided his country. If he was, why would he threaten South Korea. He would want to reconcile with them. We should be amazed that Twitler would be “honored” to meet with him, but it’s just par for the course. He just invited another murderer, Philippines President Duterte to come visit him.

      • Duterte is widely known as the Trump of the Philippines, and with good reason. Last year, concerning the gang-rape and murder of an Australian missionary, Duterte commented “she was so pretty, I should have had a turn.” Under Duterte’s Presidency, the Philippines is using extrajudicial mass killings to get rid of drug addicts. It’s no wonder Trump empathizes with him (and with Kim).

Who can know what Kim really wants, but I’m sure he’s not motivated by patriotism. If he really wanted to do good for the North Korean people, he’d take one look at South Korea’s standard of living and technological advancement and start negotiating reunification.

        • How long before Duterte takes a bus ride with Billy Bush? He’s truly a maniac. Before last November, I would have wondered how anyone could have voted for someone like Duterte.

As for Little Kim, he has nobody’s interests at heart other than his own. He watches his movies while his own people die of starvation.

      • Yes, I read about Model T inviting Duterte. It never stops and …
