It’s enough to make you mildly nauseous!

From CNN:

President Donald Trump on Tuesday fired FBI Director James Comey, sweeping away the man who is responsible for the bureau’s investigation into whether members of his campaign team colluded with Russia in its interference in last year’s election.

The Trump administration attributed Comey’s dismissal to his handling of the investigation into Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s email server, but Democrats ridiculed that notion, raising parallels to Watergate-era firings and suggested Comey was getting too close to the White House with the Russia probe.
In any case, senior White House officials appeared to have badly misjudged the impact of Trump’s sudden move. A source with knowledge of discussions inside the White House told CNN’s Dana Bash that the thinking was that because Democrats were saying precisely what Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein said in a letter explaining the grounds for Comey’s dismissal there would be no backlash.
What was not thought through apparently was an explanation of why Comey was fired now, at a time when critics would immediately conclude it was because of the Russia probe.
Comey learned of his dismissal from televisions tuned to the news, as he was addressing the workforce at the FBI office in Los Angeles, law enforcement sources said.
In a signed letter released by the White House, Trump informed Comey that he was “hereby terminated and removed from office, effective immediately,” explaining that he reached the conclusion that Comey is “not able to effectively lead the bureau.”
[…] Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said he told Trump on the telephone that he had made a terrible mistake.
“Were these investigations getting too close to home for the President?” Schumer asked
And in a sign of possible trouble for the administration, Republican Sen. Richard Burr, who is leading an Senate intelligence committee probe into alleged Russian influence on the election, expressed disquiet at the firing of Comey, which he described as a “loss for the bureau and the nation.
“I am troubled by the timing and reasoning of Director Comey’s termination. I have found Director Comey to be a public servant of the highest order, and his dismissal further confuses an already difficult investigation by the Committee,” Burr said.
CNN’s senior legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin, was not buying the idea that Comey was sacked over the Clinton investigation, saying it was “absurd.”
Toobin branded the move a “grotesque abuse of power by the President of the United States.”
Senior Justice Department and FBI officials say they were unaware of the Comey decision until the announcement. Officials who spoke to CNN said they are shocked by the development.

When I heard about this, my first thought was “right thing to do but by the wrong people at the wrong time.” If I were a Trump supporter, I’d think “no good deed goes unpunished” and wonder if Trump stabs everyone in the back, eventually.

    • I would have been more than happy if Obama had kicked Comey to the curb, but I know he would have faced enormous backlash. Howevah, had all the Twitler/Russia shit been revealed, Comey’s firing at that time would have been very defensible. Now is another story. Lindeypoo and Suzie Collins have put out bullshit statements that says Comey was fired because of the Hillary email debacle. What they don’t explain is why now? I left a long comment on Suzie’s Facebook page, because I was too pissed off for Twitter’s restrictive letter count.

My first reaction, after yelling “Holy shit!” was to shake my head and to think about how Comey now realizes that loyalty is a one-way street with Twitler. What a pussy way to fire someone. I don’t like Comey, but I don’t think he deserved to be fired on national TV. I think Twitler still thinks he’s on a fucking reality show.

  2. Old Model T just keeps on keeping on and continues to throw guilt to himself about his Russian dealings. I never thought that in my life time I would live to see a dictatorship but by George I think we have one now in the US.

My thinking is that when he got rid of Comey he believed he would have less pressure from any on-going investigation. But I see that Comey’s firing is hopefully going to backfire and Model T will be proven to be guilty of treason or what ever. Isn’t this the same action that Nixon took when he fired Archibald or what ever his name was?

Maybe now Comey will sing like a nightingale as well as Flynn and any other high ranking hold over from Obama’s administration.

Comey actually helped Model T win the election and then in the end he gets kicked in the batookus.

    • the loony tic

twitler & comey are like a married couple having an affair who get divorced from their spouses and marry their lovers. then one of the lovers files for divorce. paybacks are hell.

    • I doubt that Comey will sing, because he has convinced himself that he is the most righteous man on the planet. However, he won’t be there to bend over backwards to give Twitler and his henchman the benefit of the doubt. I have no faith whatsoever in the Justice Department or the FBI. I do have faith in some states’ Attorneys General, like Eric Schneiderman in New Yawk, to investigate the felons in the White House and bring them down.

      • Whatever the case, I hope you are right about Schneiderman. Someone has to start acting on Model T’s ties to Russia. I understand that Comey was due to testify today-not sure if that is true or not but if so, Model T. sure fired him quickly and thought that no one would notice.

  3. I had to laugh at “freshly canned” and “cooked goose”. But this situation is far too delicious for such fare. Comey now realizes, if he hadn’t already, the true nature of the beast he empowered by torpedoing Hillary just before the election. And Trump has finally thrown a grenade which is blowing up in his own face instead of someone else’s. He was already going completely nutzoid about the media coverage of the Trump/Russia investigation, and the timing of this is going to ratchet that coverage way up. Comey’s goose may be cooked, but Trump is going to go from simmering to boiling now.

What’s that on either side of the cherub taking a whizz at Comey? Celery?

    • I think Comey knew Twitler’s true nature, but his self-righteousness forced him to take the entire election into his own hands and steer it the way he wanted it to go. Not adhering completely to government regulations when it comes to email seems to be more vitally important to him than canoodling with Russians. He’s like a teacher who will punish a kid for not showing his work step-by-step even though he gets the right answer and ignoring the kid who is beating the shit out of another kid in the classroom.

The cherub is from an earlier post. Here’s the link , so you can get a better look, and you will be able to see that the items on either side of the peeing cherub are leeks.
