Sessions had better protect hims-elf!

From abcNEWS:

As the White House braces for former FBI Director James Comey’s testimony Thursday, sources tell ABC News the relationship between President Donald Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions has become so tense that Sessions at one point recently even suggested he could resign.

Uhoh Ernie Beauregard!

The friction between the two men stems from the attorney general’s abrupt decision in March to recuse himself from anything related to the Russia investigation — a decision the president only learned about minutes before Sessions announced it publicly.

Trump’s anger over the recusal has not diminished with time. Two sources close to the president say he has lashed out repeatedly at the attorney general in private meetings, blaming the recusal for the expansion of the Russia investigation, now overseen by Special Counsel and former FBI Director Robert Mueller.

But sources say the frustration runs both ways, prompting the resignation offer from Sessions.

Asked by ABC News if the attorney general had threatened or offered to resign, Justice Department spokesperson Sarah Isgur Flores declined to comment.

Meanwhile, White House press secretary Sean Spicer was asked today if the president still has confidence in his attorney general. He could not say.

  1. just as i was turning my tv on, MSNBC (Chris Hays) ticker read: BREAKING: Sessions offered to resign. Then that breaking news was interrupted by a breaking WaPo story: Coates & Pampeo were asked by trump to stay back after he dismissed the rest of the staffers and then proceeded to pressure the two to drop investigation. I think I heard that right.

Meanwhile another ticker crossed the screen: Comey asked Sessions not to leave him alone with trump.

Please tell me why trump hasn’t been impeached yet?
As CA Rep Ted Lieu (sp?) said a moment later: this *IS* obstruction of justice. (or, as spicey would say, this is obstruction of justice, period.

    • Ilya, we were watching the same thing. I had just posted this with the story from ABC. The story was only an hour long when I first saw it, so there is breaking news all over the place! What I haven’t seen or heard so far is what Mike Pence was doing during the Comey dinner. IIRC, he left the room with Beauregard. He has been in politics long enough to know that Twitler should not be alone with Comey. If Ernie…I mean, Beau-Beau is guilty, then so is Pence.

  2. Hells bells Model T and anyone that has he has touched or appointed is guilty of helping Russia intervene or interfere in the election. It’s as plain as daylight and I hope soon that all the people that he approached to back off from investigating the Russian problem will get to testify. And, that includes Flynn who has lots of dirt on his hands and, needs to clean them publicly..

    • If Beauregard quits or is fired, then he is free to testify, because executive privilege is a non-issue, just like in Comey’s case. However, I don’t think Beauregard will testify without a promise of immunity, because he’s up to his beady little eyeballs in Russiagate. I wish him a lot of sleepless nights.

  3. the loony tic

i read that twitler went through four law firms before he found someone to help defend him. at this point, who in their right mind would want to be associated with him?

    • He has a reputation for screwing his lawyers out of millions of dollars in fees. Plus, they don’t want their law firms associated with him. He is poison.
