From BUSINESS INSIDER:
The top government official tasked with clearing background checks said at a congressional hearing that he’s “never seen that level of mistakes” that he saw on White House senior adviser Jared Kushner’s security clearance application, which has had to be amended on several occasions.
Charles Phalen, director of the National Background Investigations Bureau, a new division within the Office of Personnel Management, made the remark during a House subcommittee hearing, CNN reported.
Kushner’s multiple updates to his security clearance questionnaire were for failing to initially include more than 100 foreign contacts he had prior to entering the White House.
…snip…
On a few occassions, Democrats have sought to strip Kushner of his security clearance because of his failure to submit all of his foreign contacts, among other issues.
In a letter to White House Counsel Donald McGahn earlier this month, Democratic Reps. Ted Lieu of California and Don Beyer of Virginia requested that the White House immediately revoke Kushner’s security clearances following reports on his use of private email while serving in the White House.
The lawmakers additionally pointed back to a June request to strip Kushner of his security clearance because of the FBI’s probe into his communications with Russian officials prior to President Donald Trump taking office.
…snip…
And in July, Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Florida introduced a pair of amendments aimed at stripping Kushner of his security clearance into a 2018 appropriations bill. Those amendments were quickly voted down. That effort came after the revelation of a June 2016 Trump Tower meeting that Kushner had participated in with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya, Donald Trump Jr., and then-chairman of President Donald Trump’s campaign Paul Manafort.
Filling out forms is hard.
Yeah, thank goodness that Middle East thing, opioid thing, prison reform, etc. is so easy.
lol! yep, jared’s secretary must have been off that day.
S/he was probably testifying in front of one of the Mueller posse.
Oh well, J.K. is yet another example of more lies and improper crap that went on with the Russians before and after arriving at the WH with his wonder boy child father-in-law. The committees continue with all the so-called investigations but nothing ever comes of it. I wonder why? They all act if their hands are tied and it never gets past mere grumbling. Then it all continues as business as usual with the crooks and liars as they probably laugh their asses off at having gotten away with the latest lies/shady dealings that were exposed by the so called investigative committee/s.
I’ll hang my hopes on Mueller and his team. As long as the Rethugs control Congress, any investigations are for show. The Dems will uncover evidence, but the Rethugs won’t act on it.
If Kushner is the Boy Wonder, does that make Trump — Nah, he’s the least Batman-like figure imaginable.
Kushner clearly suffers from a severe medium-term memory problem triggered by the presence of government forms, creating sudden amnesia about foreigners, shady meetings, and other such hard-to-recall phenomena.
Really, nothing about these people is “beyond belief” any more. The Trumplings and their patriarch have spent their whole careers doing whatever they could get away with, ethics be damned. Lying comes as naturally as breathing. Perjury, at best, rises to the level of a hobby. I can hardly wait for their final collision with federal prosecutors.
Kush is Wonder Boy, wonder being like in Wonder Bread. It’s packaging is appealing, but when you read the contents, you realize that it’s filled with all kinds of shit that is bad for you.
