Worst prison gang ever!

From CNBC:

It’s difficult to imagine a worse day in the presidency of Donald Trump than Tuesday, when two gripping legal dramas, one involving his former campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, and the other embroiling his longtime lawyer, Michael Cohen, collided in a surreal split screen crescendo.

In New York, Cohen pleaded guilty in federal court to eight felony counts of tax fraud, bank fraud and campaign finance violations.

Three hundred miles south, in Alexandria, Virginia., a jury found Manafort guilty of eight unrelated felonies: Five counts of felony tax fraud, one count of failing to report a foreign bank account, and two counts of bank fraud.

Trump […] emphasized that Manafort’s legal woes have “nothing to do with Russian collusion, absolutely nothing.” He then segued into familiar criticisms of special counsel Robert Mueller‘s Russia probe, calling it a “witch hunt and a disgrace.”

As part of his plea bargain, Cohen admitted to paying hush money to porn star Stormy Daniels in 2016, “at the direction of the candidate.” Trump wasn’t identified by name in Cohen’s statement, but he was the only candidate who Cohen was working for at the time.

Cohen also admitted to conspiring with a media company, perceived as the publisher of The National Enquirer, to silence another woman, former Playboy model Karen McDougal, during the 2016 presidential election.

Cohen’s lawyer, former Clinton White House aide Lanny Davis, also took pains to underscore that his client had been acting not on his own, but at Trump’s behest. “Today, [Cohen] stood up and testified under oath that Donald Trump directed him to commit a crime by making payments to two women for the principal purpose of influencing an election,” Davis said in a statement. “If those payments were a crime for Michael Cohen, then why wouldn’t they be a crime for Donald Trump?”

It was a view echoed by legal scholars, several of whom noted that while Trump was not explicitly named in the legal documents, it was clear that he was the “candidate” in question.

…snip…

Not surprisingly, Trump’s lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, took a starkly different view of what Cohen’s plea agreement meant for the president. “There is no allegation of any wrongdoing against the President in the government’s charges against Mr. Cohen,” Giuliani said in a statement to CNBC. “It is clear that, as the prosecutor noted, Mr. Cohen’s actions reflect a pattern of lies and dishonesty over a significant period of time.”

  1. Rudy Giuliani is such a piece of work I can not believe what the Sh– a– fabricates. And today was the day of new dawning – I really do hope, hope, hope. It is all so rich so to speak. The air waves are glowing tonight with the latest new of Cohen singing like a canary and Manafort found guilty on some of his high jinks.

  2. Big feathers? Does that represent some kink that trump and McDougal used to get up to? On second thought, not sure I want to know.

    • Infidel! What a dirty mind! 😮 You know I never think that way. 😐 Those are ostrich feathers, and they are partnered with the python crawling down the wall. They represent Pauly Walnuts’s old wardrobe. The animal kingdom is a little bit safer with him behind bars.

  3. the rub

we’ll see if our judicial system means anything anymore. either the don will be implicated & there will be consequences or he’ll play king and there won’t. time will tell.

    • More than that, let’s see if the legislative branch has any meaning anymore. So far, the Rethugs are doing nothing but biding their time and praying that this won’t affect their reelection. It’s very clear that they run for office to stay in power, not to make the country better. Let them all go down on the sinking ship, the USS Twitler.
