This page is not about the rabbit.

Then again, maybe it is about rabbits. Or hares. There is a difference, you know. Just ask Melvin (furry little bastard!!)

  2. Love your blog.

I put you on my roll.

  3. nonnie9999

thank you so much, nytexan! i am so happy that you enjoy the nonsense here. you have made my day! πŸ˜€

  4. Putting you on mine, too. I also enjoy the nonsense.

  5. nonnie9999

i just thanked you on another thread, but i will thank you once again, alicia!

  6. I was looking around Google and ran across your website. Very impressive! I have recently built a website called NationalPlatforms.com that provides a single source for someone to see where all the 2008 presidential candidates stand on the issues. The information comes directly from the campaigns themselves and completely unbiased.

I believe your audience would find my site very helpful. Thanks for taking the time to read this email and I’d love to hear back from you.

Hey, I was in the neighborhood. I see I’m not the only one having problems with the categories! Argh lol.

Nice blog you’ve got here. πŸ™‚

  11. virgomonkey,
i am ripping my hair out over the categories!! πŸ‘Ώ i have to post the diary and then edit for anything other than most frequent categories to post. i might start just adding everything as tags, because those work fine.
by the way, your name doesn’t link to your blog. that happened to me, too, after the update. i had to update my profile. you might want to do that, too. that way, i can be in your neighborhood, too! πŸ™‚

  12. virgomonkey

Hm. How do I get my name to link to my blog? I do have my blog as my website in my profile. What to do?

  13. virgomonkey

Nevermind. I figured it out. Thanks for letting me know. πŸ™‚

  14. you are quite welcome, virgomonkey. glad you got it fixed. πŸ˜‰

  19. I would like to invite you and your readers to participate in my β€œDemocracy Experiment:”

5 years have passed since the beginning of the Iraq war, 7 years have passed since the beginning of the Afghanistan war, we have recently witnessed the foothills of failings in our financial institutions, it has been 7 years since 9/11, we have lost 4,168 brave soldiers to war, and an additional 30,634 have been wounded in battle.

I would like to commemorate the passing of these events with an act of Democracy.

You will find my on-line open letter to government letter at:

This version is complete with photos and a table of contents that will allow you to click back and forth between sections of the letter. If you plan to skim the letter, it is easier to do so through the blog.

OR you can send me an e-mail and I will send you the PDF attachment so that you may forward or download it.

  20. hello ironyspeaks, πŸ˜€
welcome to the raisin. i encourage you to comment in the other threads here with links to your site. you might also be interested in a site called the grievance project. it focuses on the justice department, legal issues, and accountability.

  21. so are you, sam! i love your diaries at the big orange!

  22. Hi Nonnie, I found the link to your site over at Karen Z’s page. I’ve made a draft post to introduce you (on my page). Someone from Florida somehow looked at that page. How did that happen? Was it you? (I’m thinking my links to you might have given you access to an unpublished post. Could it be?) btw – I enjoyed looking through many pages of your work. πŸ™‚

  23. hi dhconcerts!
    welcome to the raisin! πŸ˜€

that was me (from floriduhhhh) who visited your site! it is very kind of you to introduce me on your page. it is appreciated.

i noticed that you are a songwriter. i only write song parodies, many of which are posted here. i am listening to some of your work right now. you have a beautiful voice, and i love your songs! you are a very talented lady.

hope you will stop by and comment often. πŸ™‚

  24. Hi Nonnie! I’m back. πŸ™‚

Thanks for the kind words about my music! Feel free to say that kind of thing to anyone. πŸ˜‰

I still can’t figure out how you were able to look at a post I’ve not yet published. (It’s in my drafts folder.) I’ll click the ‘publish’ button sometime in the next few days and introduce ‘Raisins’ on my site.

  25. hi dhc!
i actually didn’t see an unpublished post at your blog. i got to your site by clicking on the link that showed up on my blog stats page. i usually click on referrers, because i am always curious as to what brought people here. when i clicked on the link to your site, i got an error page. it said that what i was looking for was not found. so, i clicked on home to see what the blog was about. the rest is history! πŸ˜‰ maybe your blog stats interpreted the not found as a visit to whatever it was that was yet unpublished. so, no worries. your security is sound, and no post is unseen before its time!
hope your thanksgiving was happy…..and filling! πŸ™‚

  26. Hysterical Raisins = Fun Blog!

  27. hey propagandee!

  28. hey nonnie9999, I’ve FINALLY put up my ‘meet the raisins’ post and linked to your most recent post, too. πŸ™‚

  30. Lettuce Dipp

When I was a kid, I had a dream that I was sitting in church, and Mighty Mouse flew through the glass window to pluck me from the pew and rescue me. Loved seeing MM again!

  31. πŸ˜† hello lettuce dipp!
    welcome to the raisin! πŸ˜€

i love your mighty mouse story, and i’m glad that visiting here brought back a good memory. i hope you will visit again soon. πŸ™‚

  32. seattle99

  33. Nonnie,

If you want to add Facebook or email sharing buttons to your blog posts, there’s a plugin that does it for you: http://tinyurl.com/sharebuttons

    Hope you find it helpful!

    Cheers,

  34. Scottie

    Glad I found this site!

I really enjoy blogs like yours that inject a bit of humour into a humourless environment that has become the political discourse on the internet.

I’m an Aussie that subscribes to Crooks & Liars and, until recently, ‘Blue herald’. Unfortunately, Suze at Blue Herald has her hands tied at present and the blog has stagnated. I stumbled onto your site just from an open thread at ‘C&L’ and found it humorous and not lacking in reference, so I’ve decided to tag along with you.

Thanks for the fun here, Nonnie.

    • hello scottie,
welcome to the raisin! πŸ˜€ what a nice comment! i was thrilled to see that c & l linked over here. i love that site and don’t visit it often enough.

i hope you’ll visit and comment often, scottie. i have the funniest and smartest commenters here, and i think you’ll have fun.

  35. Gettagrip

Great cite! Started the day laughing, thanks.

  36. Love the site. Up with rabbits!

  37. Glad I found you on Dkos link. Very much appreciate the humor. Even your trolls are funny. Your site is blessed relief from setting the world right with learned remarks all evening. And of course the great answer: born naked / born with fur. I ain’t sayin.

  38. Hey Stranger!

I didn’t have the brain power to find a spot to comment on, but wanted to say happy New Years and all that jazz!

    Sandy

    • sandy!!!

i went over to your flog during the holidays to wish you a merry and a happy, but after a few clicks, i think i wound up at adam corolla’s site, so i didn’t leave a comment. so glad you stopped by so i could wish you a happy new year. you can comment anywhere. don’t be shy! πŸ˜‰

      • Yeah, my site is confusing the Adam stuff is a blog but not so much mine, and I had to move mine off of yahoo hosting since they suck. The new flog is at

        http://www.bleachburnout.com/blog/

I have not had much time to mess with it. And BTW you alway have the email too!

Hope things are well and from the looks of what I watch on the tube plenty to rant about!

        Sandy

        • i went there first, but it didn’t look like anyone had been there since october, so i didn’t leave a comment. i thought of emailing you, but i probably got distracted by something shiny. πŸ˜‰

  39. We thought this might of interest to your blog:

50 young people have camped outside Senator Coburn’s office for 7 days, bearing the extreme cold, and will not leave until he removes a hold on a bill that would help stop a rebel group abducting children and terrorizing people in Africa. The organizers have a website with details and live video at coburnsayyes.com.

    • i read about this last night. it does my heart good to hear about kids taking a stand when they see something wrong. they have more of a heart than coburn ever will. your link doesn’t work, so allow me to link here in case anyone wants to read about it.

  40. Nice blog. Nothing is as proper as propaganda; nothing exceeds like excess.

  41. Hey, been so busy I have not had time to check in and say hi. The place where I work (but don’t get paid, that’s another story) DTV satellite died and now I can’t catch Fox news anymore for my afternoon and late night entertainment.

I miss my old late nite stand by of Beck. Have to get that fixed soon. Hope things are well!

    Sandy

    • sandy!!!!!

what a nice surprise! πŸ˜€ whenever is see adam carolla on tv, i think of you.

i don’t think you’re really missing anything by not being able to watch glenn blechhh. get an airhorn and assault your airdrums. it’ll be the same thing, except more elucidating than listening to blechhh. πŸ˜‰

  42. Barbara O'Brien

    Dear Hysterical Raisins,

I just have a quick question for you but couldn’t find an email so had to resort to this. I am a progressive blogger. Please email me back at barbaraobrien@maacenter.org when you get a chance. Thanks.

    Barbara

  43. Love your style, man! I’ve added your blog to my “links to intelligent life” list, hope you’ll check out mine at squatlo-rant.blogspot.com and if you like, maybe add mine to yours.

    • hello bob timmerman,

      welcome to the raisin! πŸ˜€

thank you for adding the raisin to your blogroll. you’ll notice that i don’t have a blogroll here, but i added squatlo rant to my blogroll over at the big orange. very funny stuff!

hope you’ll stop by again soon.

      p.s. i’m not a man. at least, i wasn’t the last time i checked. πŸ˜‰

  44. Legal disclaimer: “Raisins are mechanically stemmed and may contain an occasional grape stem or wood piece” There, now you’re covered in case of a lawsuit. But beware! If the gopers win the election, were all in for it. That jackass will rat us all out to the Raisin Police and have us all picked up for water boarding to turn us into sour grapes that can be squeezed to make more whine!

  45. Your blog is killer! Keep fightin’ the good fight!

  46. Hey, your work is so good can you do a Joe Walsh post? Scream wold seem to be to easy…

    • thanks gene! i’ve done a couple of joe walsh posters. here’s one and the other. i’ve been wanting to make another one, but i’ve been distracted by some home improvement projects, so i haven’t had a chance to look for a good movie for him. don’t worry, though, i’ll get to him one of these days. nice to see you again, gene! πŸ™‚
