Well?

From the Guardian Unlimited:

Without clear frontrunners in the US primaries, pressure is mounting on New York mayor Mike Bloomberg to make a decision on launching an independent bid for the presidency.

He has talked with potential running mates; he has criticised candidates on policy; he has been flattered and encouraged by cover stories in Time and Newsweek; and he has paid for polling in every state to gauge potential support.

But officially, at least, the self-made multi-billionaire is sticking to his coy position: denying interest in a possible White House bid while his political team continues to lay the groundwork and infrastructure for one.

The Lapel Show

It’s official. Lou Dobbs has lost his fucking mind. When he recently went in for a tonsillectomy, did the anesthesiologist turn off the oxygen by mistake? Did the surgeon miss and nip a bit of Lou’s brain instead of his tonsils? Whatever the case, I will repeat–Lou Dobbs has lost his fucking mind.

NEW YORK (CNN) — Lunacy among our public figures in this country certainly didn’t subside over the weeks that I’ve been away from the broadcast. I’ve been no less than astounded by the incongruity, the contradiction, the specious and silly public statements by public and political figures over something like a flag pin worn on one’s lapel.

Like many Americans, I began wearing a flag pin after September 11. I do so out of respect for those killed in the terrorist attacks, and in recognition of this country’s war on radical Islamist terror. It turns out that some journalists and some presidential candidates are uncomfortable and even upset about flags on lapels.

Demublipendent

From the International Herald Tribune:

NEW YORK: New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg lived most of his life as a Democrat before switching to the Republican Party when he ran for mayor, yet he never really fit in with either party.

Now, Bloomberg has apparently shaken off those labels and found the one that suits him, announcing this week that he has become an independent because it is more in line with his beliefs and gives him freedom to promote his agenda for the city.

I don’t ever want to hear again that women can’t make up their minds!!

Does this mean that the gazillionaire will decide to run for President? Shit, I don’t think he can decide which shoes he should wear. Black…no brown…no loafers…hey! Don’t make a commitment. Go barefoot. It will allow you freedom to promote your bunions.
