When Cindy Lou McCain isn’t flip-flopping on DADT in order to not make a fool of her hubby, Captain Underpants (note to Cindy Lou: It’s too late!), she’s busy stealing recipes from famed terrorist Rachael Ray, and baking cookies for Capt. U and his little friends, Lindseypoo and Joe McLiebercain…

I just got home, and I have nothing prepared, so I’m dusting off another American Street oldie goldie. Since Captain Underpants is being a total dick about DADT, I picked out a post about him. It was originally posted on March 19, 2008.
Hey kids! Anyone else watch Dancing With the Stars? Yeah, I admit it, I have watched every season. I am just getting over the nightmares I had last season after seeing the flesh on Wayne Newton’s face stretched so tight that, every time he raised his eyebrows, his manboobs jiggled. So anyway, I tune in to watch this season, and there’s Priscilla Presley with so much botox and collagen in her face that she has to wear this around her neck! Seriously, these people are so friggin’ rich, and they still can’t afford a plastic surgeon who doesn’t make people look like The Joker from Batman? She couldn’t even smile!!! I’m not kidding! I bet she has to eat through a straw, because I don’t think her jaw can move enough to chew! Seriously, you have to watch just to see her face!
But I digress. This isn’t about Dancing With the Stars, Mr. Danke Schoen, or Elvis’s ex. So what is this about? Damned if I remember. Hold on, I think I wrote it down somewhere……Oh, yeah!! It’s about
Captain Underpants John McCain! Dancing John McCain!
It all started back in April of 2007. I reported on
Captain Underpants’s John McCain’s trip to Baghdad. That’s when I first spotted his propensity for dancing.
Trip the light fantastic with me, and I will show you more of
Captain Underpants’s John McCain’s twinkletoes, as well as some advice I have for him.
From The Boston Globe:
WASHINGTON — Senate Republicans, including Scott Brown of Massachusetts, said yesterday they are opposed to an extension of tax cuts for middle-income families unless cuts also are extended for the wealthiest Americans, setting up a defining showdown with President Obama in the run-up to November’s midterm elections.
The Senate signaled its determination after the Republican leader in the House, Representative John A. Boehner of Ohio, stunned Washington on Sunday by saying he was ready to compromise as a last resort and back Obama’s plan to extend cuts for middle-income families while letting those for the highest wage earners expire.
Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell dug in with an all-or-nothing approach and his spokesman said he had enough votes to block anything that falls short of a continuation of cuts for taxpayers in every bracket.
From POLITICAL HOTSHEET at CBS NEWS:
Conservative Fox News television host, author, and radio host Glenn Beck has started a university.
According to an announcement on Beck’s Web site, “Beck University is a unique academic experience bringing together experts in the fields of religion, American history and economics.” In July, August and September, interested parties can participate in “captivating lectures and interactive online discussions” in which “experts will explore the concepts of Faith, Hope and Charity and show you how they influence America’s past, her present and most importantly her future.”

From the St. Petersburg Times:
ST. PETERSBURG — Something peculiar is going on with Charlie Crist.
He’s on the cusp of losing public office, his lifelong party is attacking him mercilessly, and some of his closest friends are yanking their support now that he’s running for Senate as a nonpartisan candidate instead of a Republican. And yet even by the relentlessly cheerful standards of Gov. Crist, he seems even more upbeat and relaxed than ever.
From The New York Times:
Two years after he was shunned by Gov. Charlie Crist of Florida during that state’s Republican presidential primary, former Gov. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts endorsed Marco Rubio, Mr. Crist’s opponent in Florida’s Republican Senate primary, on Saturday.
Mr. Romney’s decision to support Mr. Rubio comes after Mr. Crist helped end Mr. Romney’s White House aspirations by endorsing a rival, Senator John McCain of Arizona, in the 2008 race for the Republican presidential nomination.
Mr. Romney is the third major Republican presidential candidate from the 2008 race to endorse Mr. Rubio, joining former Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani of New York and former Gov. Mike Huckabee of Arkansas. Mr. Giuliani, who endorsed Mr. Rubio earlier this month, was also counting on a Florida victory in the 2008 campaign and now says that Mr. Crist backed out of a promised endorsement.

(How nice is it of Princess Sarah Palin to lend Captain Underpants her leather jacket?)
“Game Change.” the just-released book on the 2008 campaign, portrays the vetting of [Sarah] Palin as “hasty and haphazard” and reports that McCain’s campaign didn’t speak with the former governor’s husband, political allies or enemies or even send anybody to Alaska to look into her background until after she was selected.
Asked on NBC’s “Today” show if the book was fair in its assessment, McCain responded: “I wouldn’t know.”
Pressed by host Matt Lauer how the GOP presidential nominee wouldn’t know about the vetting of his own running mate, McCain said: “I wouldn’t know what the sources are or care.”
