From Los Angeles Daily News:
The White House and Republican leaders in Congress scrambled on Tuesday to shore up support for their health care bill as critics went on the attack over new estimates [from the Congressional Budget Office] that 14 million people would lose insurance coverage in the first year alone.
With Washington blanketed in a rare March snow, congressional GOP leaders and top aides to President Donald Trump got to work trying to salvage the legislation, which they hope to push through the House next week and the Senate the week after that. Trump has promised to sign the bill, fulfilling seven years of GOP promises to undo “Obamacare,” even though the legislation breaks the president’s own past promises to safeguard Medicaid and provide health insurance for all.

Sen. Marco Rubio put aside serious reservations about Rex Tillerson and announced Monday he’ll back the former ExxonMobil chief for secretary of state, effectively clinching his confirmation.
The support of the Florida Republican means Tillerson will clear a Monday evening in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee instead of facing an embarrassing “unfavorable” verdict by the panel. Rubio’s decision likely foreshadows unanimous GOP support for Tillerson, who had made some Republicans nervous about his closeness to Russian President Vladimir Putin and reluctance to criticize Putin’s actions during his confirmation hearing.

From THE WASHINGTON POST:
WASHINGTON — Alarm and condemnation erupted Thursday from European capitals, the White House and leaders of Donald Trump’s own party after the Republican presidential nominee suggested the United States might abandon its NATO military commitments if he were elected president.
Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell, who backed Trump at the party’s national convention only two days earlier, said he totally disagreed with the statement but was willing to “chalk it up to a rookie mistake.”

From USA TODAY (January 21, 2016):
South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham lambasted his Republican Party’s presidential front-runners Thursday, telling reporters at the Capitol that nominating Donald Trump or Ted Cruz could prove fatal for his party.
“It’s like being shot or poisoned. What does it really matter?” Graham said.
From CNN (March 18, 2016):
In a sign of just how much the Republican presidential primary has turned the party on its head, Sen. Lindsey Graham will headline a fundraiser on Monday in support of Ted Cruz.
From THE RAW STORY:
At a Senate hearing on gun violence Wednesday, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) was humiliated by a police chief who abruptly interrupted his talking points to insist that he’s “wrong” on how enhanced background checks for gun buyers would work.
Echoing the National Rifle Association, Graham argued before the Senate Judiciary Committee that enhanced background checks are not needed because the laws currently on the books are not enforced well enough.
“When almost 80,000 people fail a background check and 44 people are prosecuted, what kind of deterrent is that?” he asked. “I mean, the law obviously is not seeing that as important, if it’s such an important issue, why aren’t we prosecuting people who fail a background check?”
Prepare to get spanked, Lindseypoo!
From REAL CLEAR POLITICS:
BLITZER: The celebration continuing on the streets of Libya, throughout the country. We’re following the breaking news this hour, the death of the Libyan dictator, Moammar Gadhafi. I talked about it earlier with Republican senator John McCain, the ranking member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, and I asked whether the Obama administration deserves any credit.
SEN. JOHN MCCAIN (R), ARIZONA: I congratulate the British and French for their leadership and their effort. And so it’s been a significant success and we should celebrate today.
BLITZER: But the U.S. played a significant role in the NATO operation, not just the British and the French, Senator McCain, the first few weeks, first two weeks in particular, U.S. Tomahawk cruise missiles and U.S. air refueling capabilities. The Obama administration, from your perspective, deserves a lot of credit for this, as well, don’t they?
MCCAIN: Oh, I think they deserve credit. The fact is, if we had declared a no-fly zone early on, we would have never had — Gadhafi would have fallen at the beginning.
The second thing is that if we had used our capabilities, the A10 and the AC130, this would have been over a long time ago. But I think the administration deserves credit, but I especially appreciate the leadership of the British and French in this — in carrying out this success.
Anyone else sick of this bitter shithead who can’t deal with the fact that he’ll never live up to the legacies of his daddy and grandfather and that he had to marry a millionaire’s daughter in order to have a career? He wants to diss President Obama, but he’s also dissing the American troops. By the way, Captain Underpants didn’t mention his trip to Libya to visit Muammar Gadaffy Shoulda Ducked in August 2009. Here’s a picture of the historic meeting. Lindseypoo Graham was also along for the trip.

President Barack Obama:
Either we ask the wealthiest Americans to pay their fair share in taxes, or we’re going to have to ask seniors to pay more for Medicare. Either we gut education and medical research, or we’ve got to reform the tax code so that the most profitable corporations have to give up tax loopholes that other companies don’t get. We can’t afford to do both. This is not class warfare. It’s math.
