From The Telegraph:
It was a rare reflection by Mitt Romney on his life as a young Mormon, offered as proof to struggling Americans that despite being born into privilege and amassing a $250 million fortune, he too had known hard times.
But the Republican presidential hopeful spent a significant portion of his 30-month mission in a Paris mansion described by fellow American missionaries to The Daily Telegraph as “palace”. It featured stained glass windows, chandeliers, and an extensive art collection. It was staffed by two servants – a Spanish chef and a houseboy.

From NEW YORK MAGAZINE:
According to a thinly sourced, barely credible story in the Post today, some Jewish donors have shunned Mitt Romney’s campaign because, they’ve explained, they’re more interested in helping the GOP race’s Jewish candidate … Michele Bachmann.

From THINK PROGRESS:
[Tuesday,] Yesterday, hate radio hosts Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity had their nationally syndicated radio shows dropped from WPHT in Philadelphia, which is the second radio station to drop both of the conservative commentators.
Just weeks ago, Beck was dropped from WOR in New York, but the most recent cancellation in Philadelphia hurts Beck even more. Beck got his start in Philadelphia, and many of his radio staffers still live in Philly, including Beck’s side-kick Stu. Immediately after being dropped yesterday, Beck dropped all affection for the city where he got his start, saying, “Philly sucks”[…]

There was much excitement behind the scenes at the Rethuglican Convention! There was a lot of planning going on!
All of Captain Underpants’s
lobbyists friends and advisers were there, including Karl Rove, Phil Gramm (who kept his hands over his ears, lest there be any whining! 😆 ), Randy Scheunemann, Joe McLieberman, Nicolle “the media sucks” Wallace, Lindsey-poo, and Charlie Black. Captain Underpants snoozes in the background until they wake him up to tell him what he honestly and truly thinks.

From the Arizona Republic:
John McCain’s upcoming Memorial Day weekend getaway with three prominent vice-presidential possibilities has rekindled intrigue about his Republican running mate.
McCain, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee, has invited 10 couples to his family’s rustic cabin near Sedona.
The guest list includes political allies such as Florida Gov. Charlie Crist and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, as well as Mitt Romney, his erstwhile White House rival and former Massachusetts governor.

From the New York Daily News:
MIAMI – Rudy Giuliani began his Sunday in an unusual place for him – at church – and with an unusual fellow congregant, the controversial former Florida Secretary of State Katherine Harris.
Katherine Harris? He must have been visiting the Church of Our Lady of a Thousand Chuckles.
The former mayor, whose second divorce has left him on the outs with his own Catholic Church, started a three-day bus tour through Florida Sunday with a visit to the bilingual El Rey Jesus, a Hispanic evangelical Christian church here.
“This is a beautiful church, and I can feel the spirit of God in this room,” Giuliani told the 7,000 or so worshipers.

Freedom requires religion, just as religion requires freedom. Freedom opens the windows of the soul so that man can discover his most profound beliefs and commune with God. Freedom and religion endure together, or perish alone.
Freedom. Religion. Can’t separate them. Let’s save some time and just call it Freligion ™.
Now, sell it, Mittsie!!!

From The New York Times:
Mitt Romney will deliver a speech entitled “Faith in America,” addressing his Mormon religion, on Thursday at the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library in College Station, Tex.
The George H. W. Bush Library? Hasn’t the old bastard caused us enough suffering already?
His campaign is describing the address as an opportunity for Mr. Romney to “share his views on religious liberty, the grand tradition religious tolerance has played in the progress of our nation and how the governor’s own faith would inform his presidency if he were elected.”
Religious tolerance? Hmmmm, I think I will ask all the Jews, Buddhists, Muslims, and atheists who are currently running for President about that.
