From NBC News:
WASHINGTON — Republicans tried to take away Rep. Steve King’s platform — but he just won’t stop talking.
“What if we went back through all the family trees and just pulled those people out that were products of rape and incest? Would there be any population of the world left if we did that?” King said in remarks supporting abortion bans that do not make exceptions for cases of rape and incest, according to video posted online by The Des Moines Register.

Conservatives are livid after President Trump appeared to have made a deal with Democrats in order to save the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, program — claiming he is abandoning his base and the stringent immigration platform he campaigned on.
Commentator Ann Coulter went on a Twitter tirade Thursday, furious that the president appeared to be reneging on his trademark border wall. “Put a fork in Trump, he’s dead,” the outspoken author and once-fervent Trump ally wrote. “At this point, who DOESN’T want Trump impeached?”

Direct quote from Sean Insanity Hannity:
Tonight, it’s time for the Trump administration to begin to purge the saboteurs before it’s too late.
From TALKING POINTS MEMO:
Hannity reiterated the theory of a “deep state” of government insiders hell bent on taking Trump down, a theory that’s been spouted by many conservative pundits, including, most recently, Rep. Steve King (R-IA). The Fox host blamed these insiders for the leaks that have been plaguing the Trump administration.

From Dawn Laguens (Executive Vice President, Planned Parenthood Action Fund) at THE HUFFINGTON POST:
Mitt Romney: It is time to withdraw your endorsement of Richard Mourdock.
We can’t go a week in this campaign without another out-of-touch politician showing his true colors on women’s health issues. First, Missouri Senate candidate Todd Akin said, “If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.” Last week, Representative Joe Walsh said that abortion is unnecessary because the life of a mother is never at risk. Just yesterday, Indiana Senate candidate Richard Mourdock said pregnancy as a result of rape is “something that God intended to happen.”

President Obama released his long-form birth certificate months ago, but leading Birther activist Orly Taitz is still insisting to anyone who will listen that the president is not a natural-born citizen. Last Thursday she traveled to Capitol Hill to make her pitch to staffers for some of the most influential conservative members of Congress, some of whom were apparently quite receptive to her message.
Taitz told me she flew on the red-eye from her home state of California to Washington for a series of meetings on Thursday with aides to Reps. Steve King (R-IA) and Allen West (R-FL), and Sens. Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Jim Inhofe (R-OK), among others.
“The ones that were most positive was a meeting with two counsels for Marco Rubio. They read all the pleadings, they are aware of the issues,” said Taitz, reached at her Orange County dental office.

We’ll have to take a little break in the continuing coverage of St. Ronnie Reagan for a different saint. I didn’t have time to photoshop anything today, but I did make a pic for Seneca Doane over at the Big Orange, so we’ll use that over here tonight. My apologies.
From Hot Dish Politics at the Minneapolis Star Tribune:
Rep. Michele Bachmann might have arrived a half-hour late for the first nationwide Tea Party Town Hall, but she got there in plenty of time to raise the alarm – Paul Revere style – about the imminent threat of a faraway government with designs on its citizens’ freedoms and liberties.

From the DesMoines Register:
In case you hadn’t noticed, Christmas is on its way, and Rep. Steve King will seek the official recognition from the U.S. House for the holiday.
The Iowa Republican’s resolution [HR 847] “recognizing the importance of Christmas and the Christian faith” is scheduled to come up for debate and a roll-call vote in the House today, King said in an interview.
“Because Congress can honor Ramadan, Congress can honor Christmas,” he said. “The foundation of this American culture is Christianity.”
