Much like her father, Sarah Huckabee Sanders could probably benefit from deleting a tweet or two.
The deputy White House press secretary under President Donald Trump—who some Americans (and mock reporters on Saturday Night Live alike) are saying should replace her boss, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer—is facing new criticism for messages she posted on Twitter before accepting a role in the Trump administration.

From CBS NEWS:
The Republican chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee on Monday said that FBI Director James Comey’s disclosure Friday about newly discovered emails related to the private email servers probe is “not fair to Congress, the American people or Secretary [Hillary] Clinton.”
In a letter to Comey Monday, Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa said that Comey’s letter to GOP committee chairmen on Friday was “vague” and he listed a number of questions that he wants answered by Friday.

Back in late 2009, Ohio GOP Chairman Kevin DeWine put together a 10 point plan that he hoped would help restore the “conservative credibility” of the Republican party in Ohio.
“The Republican Party has lost its credibility,” wrote DeWine. “We were the party of ethics and morality until our elected officials became symbolic of scandal and corruption,” he said. And “voters did not reject our conservative ideology… they rejected our hypocrisy.”
The final step of his plan was to “Enforce a zero-tolerance policy for misconduct” […]

In April, Robert Mecklenborg was arrested while driving in Indiana with a stripper in his car. A few days later he lied on his Ohio driver license application – claiming he didn’t have any outstanding, out-of-state violations. Kevin DeWine and John Kasich refused to call for Mecklenborg’s resignation.

From the Christian Post:
A conservative Christian group sent Louisiana Senator David Vitter, who in 2007 confessed to using the services of a high-profile prostitution ring, a letter Monday calling on him to follow former New York Rep. Anthony Weiner’s lead and resign.
Several Democratic leaders, including House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, had called for Weiner’s resignation.
Unlike Weiner, Vitter, who admitted to “serious sin” in 2007 after his number was disclosed by the alleged prostitution ring “D.C. Madam,” never faced the same pressure from fellow Republicans to resign following his scandal.

From Joe Coscarelli at Press Clips (blog) at the village VOICE:
As interest in Anthony Weiner’s penis and the dirty messages that brought it out to play begins to wane, we focus instead on the media coverage of Anthony Weiner, thereby proliferating Anthony Weiner coverage. Hm! It’s a conundrum, especially for those who go on television to proclaim, “The degree of piling on: the way it hijacks cable news, the way it hijacks the morning shows, the way it is all over the Internet says to me that we are more interested in covering salacious topics than matters of the economy, on matters of war and peace,” while simultaneously writing for a news organization doing just that. Oh, hello there — Howard Kurtz, is that you? Why yes, it is.

Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY) may have brought the scandal over digital dalliances upon himself, but the media’s coverage of the story from the moments after he sent that errant tweet has been orchestrated almost entirely by one person: conservative blog entrepreneur Andrew Breitbart.
Breitbart, the other famous guy at the center of this scandal, has made the scandal a national fixation.

From the New York DAILY NEWS:
WASHINGTON – Congress turned thumbs down on the Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act on Thursday night, raising doubts it will ever pass.
Most Republicans refused to back the measure, calling it a “slush fund,” and saying it was another example of Democratic overreach and an “insatiable” appetite for taxpayers’ money.
The bill would spend $3.2 billion on health care over the next 10 years for people sickened from their exposure to the toxic smoke and debris of the shattered World Trade Center.
