Takin’ It to the Streets!

From THE HILL:

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) described Wall Street protesters as a mob on Friday and implied Democrats were egging them on.

In a speech to the conservative Values Voter Summit, Cantor said he was “increasingly concerned by the growing mobs” and criticized Democrats who have showered praise on the protesters in New York and other cities.

“Some in this town have actually condoned the pitting of Americans against Americans,” Cantor said.

Funny how he never seemed to have a problem with the Teabaggers or the bullshit of Rethugs trying to diss Democrats by consistently saying the Democrat party instead of Democratic.  Pettiness and derision and division seem to be just fine with widdle Ewic Token Cantaw until someone picks on his rich buddies.

How Kudlow Can You Get?

From VANITY FAIR:

In these tough economic times, isn’t it nice to know that calamitous natural disasters needn’t have an adverse affect on your investment portfolio? After the 8.9-magnitude earthquake in Japan failed to induce a market nosedive, CNBC’s Larry Kudlow expressed his relief in terms that seemed to appall even his fellow cheerleaders for capitalism: “The human toll here,” he declared, “looks to be much worse than the economic toll and we can be grateful for that.”

Something on a Crisp Shitz Cracker

From THE UPSHOT at YAHOO NEWS:

The Rev. Al Sharpton wants Rush Limbaugh to apologize for calling the late George Steinbrenner a “cracker” who “made a lot of African-American millionaires.” Don’t count on it.

Limbaugh, in an email to Yahoo! News (reprinted in full below), says: “The only thing I can remember the media and the left ever saying about Steinbrenner is that he was an evil, temperamental dictator who made illegal campaign contributions to Richard Nixon and consorted with hoodlums.”

And now, he argues, the media and left-wing commentators are going after him for talking about Steinbrenner.

TEXtbooks

From The New York Times:

AUSTIN, Tex. — After three days of turbulent meetings, the Texas Board of Education on Friday approved a social studies curriculum that will put a conservative stamp on history and economics textbooks, stressing the superiority of American capitalism, questioning the Founding Fathers’ commitment to a purely secular government and presenting Republican political philosophies in a more positive light.

The vote was 10 to 5 along party lines, with all the Republicans on the board voting for it.

The board, whose members are elected, has influence beyond Texas because the state is one of the largest buyers of textbooks.

Now he can look for a younger, prettier, richer adviser

From The Telegraph:

Carly Fiorina, who rose from a secretarial position to become chief executive of the technology giant Hewlett-Packard, made the gaffes in two separate interviews.

First she was asked by a radio host – who had just praised her own business record – that since Mr McCain “thinks Mrs Palin has the experience to be president … do you think she has the experience to run a major company like Hewlett-Packard?”

Miss Fiorina replied: “No, I don’t. That’s not what she is running for.”

Asked later in a television interview about her remark, Ms Fiorina said: “Well, I don’t think John McCain could run a major corporation.”

Miss Fiorina has since had planned television appearances cancelled.
