From BUSINESS INSIDER:
White House press secretary Sean Spicer contradicted a tweet earlier this morning from President Donald Trump and said “there was nothing” that would cause anyone to think that the controversial meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and a Russian lawyer had to do with anything other than adoptions.
“Look, you know I’m not going to get into the specifics of this,” Spicer said at Monday’s off-camera press briefing. “But I will say that it is quite often for people who are given information during the heat of a campaign to ask what that is. That’s what simply he did. The President has made it clear through this tweet. And there was nothing, as far as we know, that would lead anyone to believe that there was anything except for a discussion about adoption and the Magnitsky Act.”
If you ask me, I think Twitler plans on throwing Donnie Jr. under the nearest bus.
From BUSINESS INSIDER:
President Donald Trump’s lawyer faced difficult questions on Sunday about Donald Trump Jr.’s attempt to glean damaging information on Hillary Clinton during a meeting with a Kremlin-connected Russian lawyer.
While Trump Jr.’s lawyers have remained primarily behind the scenes, the president’s personal lawyer has become a ubiquitous presence on television, performing the so-called “Full Ginsberg” by appearing on all five major political talk shows on Sunday.
I was calling you-know-who Hairy Cheez Doodle, but I have changed my mind. He’s got a new name now.
Davenport, Iowa (CNN)Donald Trump, after hearing speeches at the Democratic convention this week, said Thursday he wanted to “hit a number of those speakers so hard, their heads would spin.”
Why would Russian President Vladimir Putin want to help Donald Trump win the White House?
That’s the accusation from Democrats this week, after embarrassing internal Democratic National Committee emails appeared on Wikileaks on the eve of the party’s convention in Philadelphia.
The emails were lifted earlier this year in a hacking breach that security experts have linked to Russian espionage groups.
From abc NEWS:
Mitt Romney may be a multimillionaire, but on Wednesday he set his net worth aside and declared himself a member of “the great middle class.”
“We ought to provide help to the people who have been hurt most by the Obama economy. And that’s the middle class,” Romney said at a town hall meeting in Miami. “It’s not those at the very low end; it’s certainly not those at the very high end. It’s for the great middle class — the 80 to 90 percent of us in this country.”
From POLITICAL HOTSHEET at CBS NEWS:
During a Sunday appearance on Fox News, Republican strategist Karl Rove fired back at recent accusations that he has “funded” conservative groups responsible for pouring money into nationwide conservative causes, and disputed the validity of statements made by President Obama and the Democratic National Committee.
“The president is completely inaccurate,” Rove said during an appearance on “Fox News Sunday,” of Mr. Obama’s recent statements that Rove had “funded and advised” conservative groups American Crossroads and Crossroads GPS.
Rove went on to slam a recent Democratic ad criticizing his past political contributions, and accused Mr. Obama for having an “enemies list.”
