Don’t worry, Cindy Lou, you get pain meds after a nose job!

From The Christian Science Monitor:

Gilding the lily is nothing new to politics. From the 1840s when William Henry Harrison claimed to have been born in a log cabin (it was actually a Virginia plantation) to Ronald Reagan’s reminiscing about flying over Germany in World War II (he did, but only in a movie), politicians have taken perfectly good stories and embellished them.

This campaign is no exception.

…snip…

The latest embellishments come from the McCain camp. Cindy McCain has repeatedly referred to herself as an “only child.” This week came news that she actually has two half sisters, although apparently she had very little contact with them.

The McCain campaign had also put out the story that Mother Teresa “convinced” Cindy to bring home two orphans from Bangladesh in 1991.

Mrs. McCain, it turns out, never met Mother Teresa on that trip. (Once contacted by the Monitor, the campaign revised the story on its website.)

The Problem with the Middle Yeast

From The New York Times:

On May 7, Dunkin’ Donuts began running an ad on its Web site and others, featuring the celebrity chef Rachael Ray holding a cup of the company’s iced coffee while wearing a black-and-white fringed scarf.

…snip…

On May 23, the conservative blog Little Green Footballs posted an item that likened Ms. Ray’s scarf to the type typically worn by Muslim extremists. The blog said that the ads “casually promote the symbol of Palestinian terrorism and the intifada, the keffiyeh, via Rachael Ray.”

Later that day, the conservative blogger Michelle Malkin chimed in, likening the scarf to a keffiyeh and calling it “jihadi chic.” Then the story, as they say on the Internet, went totally viral.

Thank you, Little Green Footballs and Michelle Malkin! My only question is–what took you so long? I never trusted this guy….

Time to make the donuts, my ass!! More like Time to make the IEDs!

What’s McCookin’: Recipe for Embarrassment

Here’s the story, kids–on Captain Underpant’s website, there was a section called Cindy’s Recipes. Supposedly, they were old family recipes that Cindy whipped up often in each one of her 8 homes. I’ll let Wonkette tell you the problem:

A New York attorney was searching Google for some recipe by famous Food Network chef Giada DeLaurentis — this is what attorneys call “billable hours” — when she found those same exact recipes on John McCain’s website, ridiculously labeled as “Cindy’s Recipes.”

The stolen recipes (“Ahi Tuna with Napa Cabbage,” “Passion Fruit Mousse,” etc.) include word-for-word rip-offs of at least three Food Network recipes, along with another plagiarized from teevee cooking lady Rachel Ray.
