The winner is incumbent Harry Reid, who was able to beat back a formidable, Tea Party-backed Republican opponent. Preliminary results from the CBS News exit poll in Nevada showed that 11% percent of the electorate decided whom to vote for within the last three days or sometime within the last week. LAS VEGAS, Oct 22 (Reuters) – President Barack Obama, fighting to keep Democrats in control of the U.S. Senate, accused Republicans on Friday of peddling discredited “snake oil ideas” about the U.S. economy.
On a five-day sprint through western states, he also entered the highest profile race of the Nov. 2 congressional elections — a contest between Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid and Republican Tea Party favorite Sharron Angle.

Kids, didya see the Katie Couric’s big interview of Princess Sarah? Sarah was fully prepared….but for different questions.
Katie asked about Rick Davis, Captain Underpants’s campaign manager, and his receiving money from Freddie Mac until last month. Here’s the transcript from CBS News:
Sarah Palin: My understanding is that Rick Davis recused himself from the dealings of the firm. I don’t know how long ago, a year or two ago that he’s not benefiting from that. And you know, I was – I would hope that’s not the case.
Katie Couric: But he still has a stake in the company so isn’t that a conflict of interest?
Palin: Again, my understanding is that he recused himself from the dealings with Freddie and Fannie, any lobbying efforts on his part there. And I would hope that’s the case because, as John McCain has been saying, and as I’ve on a much more local level been also rallying against is the undue influence of lobbyists in public policy decisions being made.
I have misplaced my $hithead-to-English dictionary, so if anyone can translate that last part for me, I would be very grateful.

From The Huffington Post:
Today Kathy Hilton weighed in on the controversial John McCain ad featuring her daughter Paris, as well as the singer Britney Spears, in a blog on the Huffington Post.
I’ve been asked again and again for my response to the now infamous McCain celebrity ad. I actually have three responses. It is a complete waste of the money John McCain’s contributors have donated to his campaign. It is a complete waste of the country’s time and attention at the very moment when millions of people are losing their homes and their jobs. And it is a completely frivolous way to choose the next President of the United States.
