You have to wonder what the FBI will be investigating now that Senator Jeff Flake had a moment of conscience or courage (or if he is playing a game like Susan Collins was when she voted Betsy Wetsy DeVos out of committee knowing she would have enough votes to be confirmed even though Susie voted against her. But I digress…). I’m hoping they look into his Georgetown Prep yearbook references.

Twitler: Pride Cometh Before McFaul
From WDEL:
A top Senate Republican leader blocked passage Thursday of a non-binding bipartisan resolution related to Russia’s interference in the 2016 election, as fallout from the controversial summit between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin continued to reverberate through the GOP-controlled Congress.
Also, senators were set to vote within the hour on another resolution written by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, a New York Democrat, that rejects a proposal from Putin that might allow the Russian government interview American officials, including former US ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul.

That HelSinking Feeling
HELSINKI (Reuters) – Standing side-by-side with Vladimir Putin, U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday refused to blame the Russian leader for meddling in the U.S. 2016 election, casting doubt on the findings of his own intelligence agencies and sparking a storm of criticism at home.

When you say self-serving, you’ve said it all!
From NBC News:
Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., threw his support behind the Republican tax plan Thursday, boosting the bill’s chances of passage.
McCain said that while the Senate bill is “far from perfect,” he believes it will “enhance American competitiveness, boost the economy and provide long overdue tax relief for middle class families.”
The Maverick added, “But my wife Cindy inherited a Budweiser fortune, so fuck all that shit about working together and gimme those tax cuts!!”

Lindseypoo: Elusive Care Eunuch
From Michael Hiltzik at The Los Angeles Times:
The Republican effort to repeal the Affordable Care Act is back, a zombie again on the march weeks after it was declared dead. The newest incarnation is Cassidy-Graham, named after chief sponsors Bill Cassidy of Louisiana and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina.
Compared with its predecessors, the bill would increase the ranks of America’s medically uninsured more — by millions of people — cost state governments billions more and pave the way for the elimination of all protection for those with preexisting medical conditions.

Breakfast of Chumpions
From az central:
As Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s campaign spends money on TV ads in red-state Arizona, Republican nominee Donald Trump on Sunday resumed his feud with one of Arizona’s Republican senators.
U.S. Sen. Jeff Flake appeared on two national Sunday morning public-affairs programs — CBS’ Face the Nation and CNN’s State of the Union — to discuss Trump, whom he has thus far refused to endorse because of the candidate’s harsh anti-illegal-immigration rhetoric and lack of serious policy proposals. On Sunday, Flake would not commit to voting for Trump. Flake also has said Trump’s controversial statements have put Arizona in play for the Democrats this year.
