Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced Monday that the Department of Justice is creating a “religious liberty task force.”

Sessions said the task force, co-chaired by Associate Attorney General Jesse Panuccio and the assistant attorney general for the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Policy, Beth Williams, will help the department fully implement the religious liberty guidance it issued last year.

The Sessions Session

So, kids, who watched the Jeff Beauregard Sessions’s testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee today? If you missed it, no prob. I have the important points. After Chairman Richard Burr and Vice Chairman Mark Warner made their statements, Beauregard gave his opening statement:

“Let me say this clearly: I have never met with or had any conversations with any Russkies, and any person who says I did is a scurrilous scoundrel of the highest order, and the very thought of it gives me the vapors!”

Sen. Marco Rubio put aside serious reservations about Rex Tillerson and announced Monday he’ll back the former ExxonMobil chief for secretary of state, effectively clinching his confirmation.

The support of the Florida Republican means Tillerson will clear a Monday evening in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee instead of facing an embarrassing “unfavorable” verdict by the panel. Rubio’s decision likely foreshadows unanimous GOP support for Tillerson, who had made some Republicans nervous about his closeness to Russian President Vladimir Putin and reluctance to criticize Putin’s actions during his confirmation hearing.

So, kids, by now you have heard that Ted Cruz has joined ranks with the likes of Marco Rubio, Paul Ryan and other cowards in endorsing Donald Trump. Once again, a member of the party of big tough guys has checked his balls at the door in order to back someone who is less qualified than an iguana to be President. I guess Cruz has decided that Trump was right; his wife Heidi is not very attractive, and his father was handing Lee Harvey Oswald bullets in the book depository.

President Obama released his long-form birth certificate months ago, but leading Birther activist Orly Taitz is still insisting to anyone who will listen that the president is not a natural-born citizen. Last Thursday she traveled to Capitol Hill to make her pitch to staffers for some of the most influential conservative members of Congress, some of whom were apparently quite receptive to her message.

Taitz told me she flew on the red-eye from her home state of California to Washington  for a series of meetings on Thursday with aides to Reps. Steve King (R-IA) and Allen West (R-FL), and Sens. Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Jim Inhofe (R-OK), among others.

“The ones that were most positive was a meeting with two counsels for Marco Rubio. They read all the pleadings, they are aware of the issues,” said Taitz, reached at her Orange County dental office.
