From U.S. News & WORLD REPORT:
Not everybody was pleased with President Obama’s uncharacteristic line on the Today Show, spoken in the pre-school hours Tuesday morning, that he wants some “ass to kick” in the Gulf oil crisis.
Becky Quick, who co-hosts Squawk Box with lead anchor Joe Kernen and co-host Carl Quintanilla, slapped Obama for using unpresidential language in an interview he knew would be aired as children prepared for school.

Oh my, my! Such language! Why, it’s enough to give a proper lady with a delicate constitution the vapors!

“Game Change.” the just-released book on the 2008 campaign, portrays the vetting of [Sarah] Palin as “hasty and haphazard” and reports that McCain’s campaign didn’t speak with the former governor’s husband, political allies or enemies or even send anybody to Alaska to look into her background until after she was selected.
Asked on NBC’s “Today” show if the book was fair in its assessment, McCain responded: “I wouldn’t know.”
Pressed by host Matt Lauer how the GOP presidential nominee wouldn’t know about the vetting of his own running mate, McCain said: “I wouldn’t know what the sources are or care.”

From The Washington Post:
Politicians do it all the time. Shock jocks, actors and athletes do. Even Bill O’Reilly has done it.
So why can’t David Letterman bring himself to apologize?
In another one of those delicious, you-know-you-love-it-even-as-you-roll-your-eyes media flaps, Letterman has been fending off an aggrieved Sarah Palin after she took offense at several of his late-night cracks.
Palin didn’t rise to the bait when Letterman derided the Alaska governor’s “slutty flight attendant look” on Monday’s show. But she did object when Letterman, satirizing the Palin family’s visit to New York and a Yankees game, said: “There was one awkward moment during the seventh inning stretch. Her daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez.”
Tasteless? Well, everyone seems to agree about that. Beyond that, you’ll get an argument.
