Stunted Intellect

From THE HILL:

“The View” co-host Meghan McCain on Thursday ripped Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) after a group of GOP lawmakers stormed a closed-door impeachment proceeding on Capitol Hill.

“By the way, Matt Gaetz, when did you want to become a TV star?” McCain said. “You want to do that? Get the hell out of Congress. Get a TV job.”

Abstinence is as easy as taking Candies from a baby!

From TIME:

Bristol Palin — Sarah Palin’s 19-year-old-daughter and unwed mother of 4-month-old Tripp — has been blog-blistered this week for her debut as an Abstinence Ambassador for the Candies Foundation. She made the rounds of the morning shows, appeared at a town hall meeting for National Teen Pregnancy Awareness Day and declared herself committed to discouraging behavior that would leave other girls in the same predicament she finds herself in. “Regardless of what I did personally,” she told Chris Cuomo on Good Morning America, “abstinence is the only … 100% foolproof way you can prevent pregnancy.”

(Note: Time needs to do better fact-checking. Bristol won’t be 19 until October.)

(And, yeah, the Candies Foundation really does have shirts like that! I think they go very well with their family values advertising.)

Blonde Jokes

From Clarence Page at the Chicago Tribune:

Call it the Battle of the Conservative Blondes.

Let other candidates’ kids shy away from the spotlight and wuss out of political scuffles. Megan McCain won’t back down.
There was Sen. John McCain’s blogging daughter on St. Patty’s Day, fresh from a verbal throw-down with conservative insult-wench Ann Coulter and responding with cool poise on “The View” to a snarky attack from conservative radio show insult-puppy Laura Ingraham.

The No Talk Express

(CNN) — Meghan McCain has drawn headlines for her unfiltered take on the presidential campaign, but there’s one topic the outspoken daughter of last year’s Republican presidential nominee won’t touch: her father’s running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

The Hills are Alive with the Sound of BFFs!

From E Online:

Imagine this: John McCain campaigning across America with Heidi Montag!

It’s a possibility. At least Montag thinks so.

A day after lunching in L.A. with the presidential hopeful’s daughter, Meghan, the publicity-hoggin’ reality star said she’s hoping to hit the road to do some GOP stumpin’.

…snip…

Now, back to that lunch with Meghan…

Montag says the two have become “good friends” since first meeting less than three months ago at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, D.C.

The Problem with the Middle Yeast

From The New York Times:

On May 7, Dunkin’ Donuts began running an ad on its Web site and others, featuring the celebrity chef Rachael Ray holding a cup of the company’s iced coffee while wearing a black-and-white fringed scarf.

…snip…

On May 23, the conservative blog Little Green Footballs posted an item that likened Ms. Ray’s scarf to the type typically worn by Muslim extremists. The blog said that the ads “casually promote the symbol of Palestinian terrorism and the intifada, the keffiyeh, via Rachael Ray.”

Later that day, the conservative blogger Michelle Malkin chimed in, likening the scarf to a keffiyeh and calling it “jihadi chic.” Then the story, as they say on the Internet, went totally viral.

Thank you, Little Green Footballs and Michelle Malkin! My only question is–what took you so long? I never trusted this guy….

Time to make the donuts, my ass!! More like Time to make the IEDs!
