The McGrinch Who Tried to Steal Christmas

I wanted to give all you dear Raisinettes a present for Christmas.  For the past 2 years, we’ve been singing the Grincheney Song, but this year, I thought there should be a new Grinch.  In fact, a McGrinch.

To the tune of You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch, by Dr. Seuss, performed by Thurl Ravenscroft:

Rethuglican National Convention in Pictures, Part Deux

There was much excitement behind the scenes at the Rethuglican Convention! There was a lot of planning going on!

All of Captain Underpants’s lobbyists friends and advisers were there, including Karl Rove, Phil Gramm (who kept his hands over his ears, lest there be any whining! 😆 ), Randy Scheunemann, Joe McLieberman, Nicolle “the media sucks” Wallace, Lindsey-poo, and Charlie Black. Captain Underpants snoozes in the background until they wake him up to tell him what he honestly and truly thinks.

Mother Knows Best!

From The Huffington Post:

Sen. John McCain may be “proud” of the Paris Hilton/Britney Spears ad released this week, but his feisty 96-year-old mother apparently disagrees.

Roberta McCain was a featured guest at a McCain campaign event on Thursday afternoon at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington DC. The Huffington Post obtained some audio of an exchange after the event where Mrs. McCain is asked about the Paris Hilton ad.

“Oh, well, I didn’t see it — I think it’s kinda stupid,” she says.

Roberta’s Big Boy!

From Politico:

Trying to avoid being portrayed as a whiney spoilsport, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) broke with his advisers Tuesday and told Katie Couric of CBS News that news coverage of the presidential campaign has been fair and even “fun to watch.”

…snip…

As part of an increasing effort by major news organizations to balance their coverage after charges they were coddling Obama, Couric interviewed McCain from Amman, Jordan, where she is anchoring the “CBS Evening News” as part of the remarkable road show following the freshman senator through the Middle East and Europe.

Asked whether he believes he’d had unfair media coverage, McCain replied: “I don’t think so. I think …it is what it is. I’m a big boy. And I’m enjoying every minute of the campaigning. And I’m certainly not complaining. And, in fact, I think it’s fun to watch.”

Delusional State

LOS ANGELES (AP) — John McCain is starting a California campaign that might already be over.

The Republican presidential candidate opens a handful of political offices this week in the nation’s most populous state, the historical turf of Reagan and Nixon that in recent years has become a Democratic fortress in presidential contests.

The Arizona senator boasts that he can win California’s 55 electoral votes, the biggest prize on Nov. 4, but he’s running as the Republican successor to GOP President George Bush, whose approval rating is at an all-time low in the state.

Debate and Switch

The Florida water shortage was brought to an end when MSNBC anchor, Chris Matthews, spittled his way through an evening of presidential hopefuls bashing Democratic candidate, Hillary Clinton, in a Republican debate on the campus of Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. Ooooh, Chris, smell that English Leather and Old Spice? Such manly men! The fragrance of testosterone wafting through the air! Okay, that was from Janet Huckabee, but still….
From MTV (yeah, I said MTV!!):

Unlike the Democrats at Monday’s contentious presidential debate, the Republican candidates spent more time piling on Senator Hillary Clinton than each other at Thursday night’s debate.

My mom can beat up your boyfriend!

MIAMI, Jan 21 (Reuters) – Republican John McCain threatened to call out his nonagenarian mother on Monday to get actor Chuck Norris to stop talking about him being too old to serve as president.

“I’m going to send my 95-year-old mother to just go over and wash Chuck Norris’ mouth out with soap,” McCain quipped at a new conference.
