From The Chronicle (Duke University):
Stephen Miller, White House senior advisor […] drew a firestorm of media attention this week after hundreds of his emails with a former Breitbart editor were reported by the Southern Poverty Law Center.
Miller, an immigration hardliner who was reportedly an architect of President Donald Trump’s controversial “Muslim ban,” sent the emails to Katie McHugh, then an editor at Breitbart, in 2015 and 2016. The SPLC report paints a picture in which Miller would send information and story ideas—sometimes citing VDare, which has published work by white nationalists, and InfoWars, which is known for promoting conspiracy theories—to McHugh, who then often wrote about the topics for Breitbart.

Fox Business host Lou Dobbs closed out his show by recounting a visit to the White House with superlatives approaching propaganda levels, praising the “sunshine” in the administration.
“A lot is happening in Washington and across this great country of ours. And it’s because we have a president who is a true leader. And I believe will be regarded as one of this country’s greatest presidents,” he said.

From YAHOO NEWS:
Hillary Clinton will make the case in a speech Thursday that Donald Trump’s campaign is led by people who propagate extreme and racist viewpoints that belie Trump’s recent attempts to pivot to the center ahead of the election.
“[Trump] is taking a hate movement mainstream,” Clinton said in an interview with CNN Wednesday. “He’s brought it into his campaign. He’s bringing it to our communities and our country.” Clinton said Trump has “courted white supremacists” and is “very much peddling bigotry and prejudice and paranoia.”

From THE PROGRESS REPORT at THINK PROGRESS:
Yesterday, a conservative district court judge appointed by President Ronald Reagan ruled that the individual mandate in the Affordable Care Act is unconstitutional, arguing further that, since he believes the mandate is “inextricably linked” to the rest of the measure, the entire law must be unconstitutional. “The act, like a defectively designed watch, needs to be redesigned and reconstructed by the watchmaker,” Judge Roger Vinson wrote. The ruling, however, contradicts 14 other court decisions, the opinion of over 100 law professors, not to mention recent polling showing that Americans want the law to be either protected or expanded. There is also a distinctly political aspect to the ruling. Vinson acknowledged borrowing heavily in his opinion from a brief written by the right-wing group Family Research Council, and he seemed to give a shout-out to the Tea Party in his ruling, which has long targeted health care reforms as “economic Marxism.”

From the Los Angeles Times:
The congressman who heckled President Obama during a televised address found that while the president accepted his apology Thursday, the furor over his outburst did not let up.
“I’m a big believer that we all make mistakes,” Obama said in acknowledging the apology from Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.). The lawmaker’s shout of “You lie!” during the president’s speech on healthcare was a significant break in decorum.
“I do think that, as I said last night, we have to get to the point where we can have a conversation about big important issues that matter to the American people without vitriol, without name-calling, without the assumption of the worst of other people’s motives,” Obama said.

From The Boston Globe:
Talk show host Jay Severin offered a “sincere apology” today for “hurtful, unkind, and wrong” remarks he made about Mexicans in the midst of the swine flu panic, vowing to do better as he returned to the air on Boston’s WTKK-FM following a month-long suspension.
WTKK suspended the right-wing talk show host on April 30 after he described Mexicans as “primitives” and “leeches” and called Mexico an exporter of “women with mustaches and VD,” among other comments.
