Running for Cover

From the INDEPENDENT:

The framed copy of Time magazine was hung up in at least four of President Trump’s golf clubs, from South Florida to Scotland. Filling the entire cover was a photo of Donald Trump.

…snip…

This cover – dated 1 March 2009 – looks like an impressive memento from Trump’s pre-presidential career. To club members eating lunch, or golfers waiting for a pro-shop purchase, it seemed to be a signal that Trump had always been a man who mattered. Even when he was just a reality-TV star, Trump was the kind of star who got a cover story in Time.

But that wasn’t true. The Time cover is a fake.

Awwww, the insecure asshole needs a magazine cover? Okie dokie!

When is time up for those who should be doing time?

From THINK magazine:

National Public Radio Media Correspondent David Folkenflik raised serious questions about the latest James O’Keefe video tape, which showed an NPR fundraiser insulting conservatives, during a presentation to Stony Brook’s News Literacy Conference.

Fundraiser Ron Schiller, as well as CEO Vivian Schiller (no relation), were “ousted from their jobs” as a result, according to Folkenflik. Officially, they both resigned.

Folkenflik, who does not speak for NPR, described O’Keefe as a “conservative activist,” the video as a “sting” and the situation as an “astonishing episode.” He also joked that he introduced O’Keefe by a different controversy in each report he filed.

Ad Pauseum

From THINK PROGRESS :

Yesterday, TV ratings for April 2010 came out, showing that Fox News had “finished first in viewers and key demographics for 100 months in a row. In prime time, Fox News averaged about 1.9 million viewers for the month of April. That beat the combined audiences of MSNBC, CNN and HLN.” To celebrate, Fox News placed a full-page ad in the print version of the Washington Post today declaring the network “The Most Powerful Name In News.” […] The ad features Fox personalities Bret Baier, Shep Smith, Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, and Greta Van Susteren. But what’s most interesting is who is NOT in the ad: Glenn Beck, who appears on air between Smith and Baier.

The No Talk Express

(CNN) — Meghan McCain has drawn headlines for her unfiltered take on the presidential campaign, but there’s one topic the outspoken daughter of last year’s Republican presidential nominee won’t touch: her father’s running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.
