Attention Hog on a Hog

From HULIQ:

Sarah Palin started her bus tour off yesterday by jumping on the back of a bike and riding in the Rolling Thunder Veteran’s Group annual motorcycle run. While she was invited to this run, this did not sit well with all the motorcycle riding veterans.

It’s Comical, Part 7: King of the Hill Edition

One of my favorite animated shows on television was King of the Hill.  It took place in Texas, so it naturally reminded me of Chimpy.  Since it’s the 10th anniversary of the Supreme Court appointing Chimpy to the preznitcy, it’s fitting we begin with a picture of him (and even more fitting that it celebrates the end of his reign, knowing all the damage he did)…

The Saga of Bristol and Levi

Since Bristol Palin decided to shake her derriere on Dancing With the Stars, she and her mother can’t bellyache about her being a private person and, therefore, immune from scrutiny. I thought we’d take a look at the love story that was Bristol and Levi Johnston. It begins, I suppose, with what the two were doing right under the noses of Princess Sarah and Toddy, Fundy Christian Abstinence-only Parents of the Year…

I Know Nothing! Nothing!

From POLITICO:

“Game Change.” the just-released book on the 2008 campaign, portrays the vetting of [Sarah] Palin as “hasty and haphazard” and reports that McCain’s campaign didn’t speak with the former governor’s husband, political allies or enemies or even send anybody to Alaska to look into her background until after she was selected.

Asked on NBC’s “Today” show if the book was fair in its assessment, McCain responded: “I wouldn’t know.”

Pressed by host Matt Lauer how the GOP presidential nominee wouldn’t know about the vetting of his own running mate, McCain said: “I wouldn’t know what the sources are or care.”

The Book to Nowhere: Thanks, but No Thanks

From POLITICS DAILY:

Republican Sen. John McCain, who lifted former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin out of obscurity to be his vice presidential partner last year, isn’t saying much about Palin’s new tell-all, blame-all book. But Steve Schmidt, who managed the campaign and is a chief target in the book, doesn’t think much of “Going Rogue.”

Of the stupid people, for the stupid people, by the stupid people

From Leonard Pitts, Jr. at The Miami Herald:

Perhaps you are familiar with an old saying: Even a broken clock is right twice a day. I’ve found that maxim valuable as I wade through the recent hand-wringing and recrimination among journalists and their critics over the fact that most mainstream media were slow to pick up on the story of corruption at ACORN.

New York Times ombudsman Clark Hoyt (a former colleague) and Andrew Alexander, his counterpart at the Washington Post, are among those who have asked whether that laggard performance reflects an unfortunate deafness to conservative media.

As one of my readers put it, “There is a lot wrong with ACORN, and Fox was the only channel talking about it.”

I might join this pity party if I thought Fox a credible news source. I do not.

Now for a little Levi-ty

From the Los Angeles Times:

If former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin thought John McCain’s staffers stabbed her in the back when they tried to blame her for his loss last November, one can only imagine what she thinks these days about Levi Johnston, the father of her grandchild.

Johnston, who is weighing the many “celebrity” career options now coming his way thanks to the meteoric rise of his former mother-out-of-law, is in sharper-than-a serpent’s-tooth mode in the October issue of Vanity Fair, where he — how to put this delicately? — rips Palin a new one for what he perceives as her personal failings.

Payback is a Real Bitch, but so is Princess Sarah!

From the Anchorage Daily News:

Levi Johnston, the former fiance of Gov. Sarah Palin’s daughter Bristol, on Thursday joined the crowd offering up potential reasons for Palin’s decision to step down.

Johnston met with reporters to say that he heard her musing about a better life, one in which she could spend more time at home, reduce her stress, and accept the lucrative offers coming her way.
