WASHINGTON (AFP) ā A fire broke out Wednesday near US Vice President Dick Cheney’s ceremonial office, in a building overlooking the White House, and left significant smoke and water damage, US officials said.
Hmmmm, Chimpy & Company under scrutiny for getting rid of evidence in so many cases, and now a fire? I am sure that one thing has nothing to do with the other. Instead, it was a matter of inevitablitly. Like the old saying goes,

It was just a matter of time before someone bumped into something flammable.
Spokeswoman Dana Perino said the blaze began in an electrical room, or electrical closet, or telephone bank steps from Cheney’s ceremonial office, whose “gorgeous wood floor” was now “mostly underwater.”
The suite also suffered smoke damage, but no fire damage, said Perino, who told reporters that the Washington fire department reported receiving a telephone call alerting them to the blaze at 9:15 am.

Roughly an hour after the incident began, Washington Fire Chief Kenneth Crosswhite said emergency workers had the situation “under control” and that “there were no injuries” reported.
“It is still too early (to specify cause); we’ve got to investigate,” he told AFP. But “there is no terrorist attack.”
Crosswhite said the blaze had been confined to Room 274, which Cheney aides confirmed to be the vice president’s ceremonial office. But White House officials later said that the fire had struck down the hall.

She’d be the “perfect pick” as the party’s first femme prez candidate, especially “stacked” (oops!) up against “Hellary.” There are too many rumors about Condi being a lezzie and she has spent a bit too much time under the sunlamp to run her – the Rs would never stand for that.
