Lordy, I hope there are tapes!

From the Op-Ed page of the TIMES of SAN DIEGO:

(Written by Colleen O’Connor, native San Diegan and a retired college professor)

Sen. Dianne Feinstein just called for a “word for word” transcript of the explosive whistleblower complaint against President Trump that led to the House impeachment inquiry.

As the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, and a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Feinstein believes that an “official word-for-word transcript of the call” between Trump and the President of the Ukraine was produced.

And she also doubts the accuracy of Trump’s report of the call.

A verbatim transcript (without the many ellipses found in the Trump version) is probably hidden inside the U.S. intelligence community’s “code-only,” restricted-access computer system.

Junior folds like one of his father’s cheap suits

From THE HILL:

Donald Trump Jr. has struck a last-minute deal to comply with a subpoena from the Senate Intelligence Committee.

The two sides have been at odds over the length and scope of the interview, raising questions about whether Trump Jr. would defy the subpoena and be held in contempt of Congress.

According to the terms of the deal, Trump Jr. will sit for an interview sometime in mid-June for between two and four hours, with the scope limited to five or six topics pertaining to his communications with Russian officials.

Paul Manafort, You Bug Me

From ABIGAIL TRACY at VANITY FAIR:

While Donald Trump and his surrogates were loudly campaigning against Robert Mueller on Twitter and on TV, the special counsel and his team of F.B.I. investigators has been quietly building their case, the details of which burst into public view Wednesday when The Washington Post reported that the bureau searched the home of Trump’s former campaign chairman Paul Manafort in a dramatic pre-dawn raid at the end of last month.

The raid, which occurred one day after Manafort met with the Senate Intelligence Committee, indicates that the Justice Department investigation has entered a heightened stage—and that Mueller is willing to use any investigative tools at his disposal to determine the extent of the Russian government’s interference in the presidential election

Send the women to the kitchen, the men will do the disses

From Vox:

For the second time in two weeks, freshman Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) was interrupted mid-question at a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing.

At the hearing for Attorney General Jeff Sessions Tuesday afternoon, Harris was asking about a Department of Justice policy Sessions repeatedly referred to when Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) interrupted her.

The Sessions Session

So, kids, who watched the Jeff Beauregard Sessions’s testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee today? If you missed it, no prob. I have the important points. After Chairman Richard Burr and Vice Chairman Mark Warner made their statements, Beauregard gave his opening statement:

“Let me say this clearly: I have never met with or had any conversations with any Russkies, and any person who says I did is a scurrilous scoundrel of the highest order, and the very thought of it gives me the vapors!”
