Nekkid Scotty Needs a Dressing Down!

From POLITICAL HOTSHEET at CBS NEWS:

The office of Republican Sen. Scott Brown of Massachusetts is blaming a technical error for the fact that comments attributed to Brown posted to his campaign website were lifted verbatim from former Sen. Elizabeth Dole.

…snip…

“I was raised to believe that there are no limits to individual achievement and no excuses to justify indifference,” Brown was quoted as saying on his site in comments that were removed earlier this week. “From an early age, I was taught that success is measured not in material accumulations, but in service to others. I was encouraged to join causes larger than myself, to pursue positive change through a sense of mission, and to stand up for what I believe.”

Dole, the former North Carolina Republican senator, used those exact words in kicking off her campaign in 2002.

I wonder if Bob Dole knows about this.  This is on top of Nekkid Liddy Scotty stupidly insulting Elizabeth Warren and pissing off a lot of women with a sexist remark.  No worries, kids.  Problems solved!!

I wouldn’t vote for her, I love lucid!

(CNN) — American politics has a photogenic new face with a troubled past of bad finances, potential fraud and a flirtation with witchcraft.

A previously unknown conservative activist named Christine O’Donnell is a sudden political sensation and Washington is trying to figure out what to make of her.

“Certainly she has some explaining to do,” Republican Congressman Mike Pence said this week.

Naked Hypocrisy

From The Los Angeles Times:

The Republican National Committee is investigating the expenditure of nearly $2,000 in party funds at a racy West Hollywood nightclub, a party spokesman said Monday.

RNC spokesman Doug Heye acknowledged that the party had reimbursed Erik Brown, president of a Southern California firm that has provided direct mail services to political campaigns, for a Jan. 31 outing at Voyeur West Hollywood.

The club, inspired by the film “Eyes Wide Shut,” is intended to be “risque and provocative” and “a combination of intimidation and sexuality,” one of its partners, David Koral, told The Times in October.

The Pro-Stupid Agenda

From THINK PROGRESS:

Today on her radio program, Laura Ingraham interviewed guest Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) and asked her about the ideological direction of the Republican Party. The pair discussed recent statements made by retired GOP Senate Majority Leaders Bill Frist (TN) and Bob Dole (KS) in support of some type of comprehensive health reform.

Dole has called for Republicans to become engaged in the process, stating “we’ve got to do something” to solve the current crisis. Frist has endorsed the Senate Finance health reform bill, and has called out “people on the extreme” in his own party for falsely labeling President Obama’s health reform as “socialized medicine.” Clearly incensed by these comments, Ingraham and Bachmann traded barbs trashing the former Republican leaders for daring to veer away from a “pro-freedom agenda”:

And Get Off My Lawn!!!!

From The Boston Globe:

So Bob Dole, how do you really feel about Scott McClellan’s tell-all book about his days in the White House?

The former senator and presidential nominee fired off an email — first reported by The Politico — today to the former White House press secretary, who has been all over television promoting his book.

“There are miserable creatures like you in every administration who don’t have the guts to speak up or quit if there are disagreements with the boss or colleagues. No, your type soaks up the benefits of power, revels in the limelight for years, then quits, and spurred on by greed, cashes in with a scathing critique.

The Bucks Start Here

May 27 (Bloomberg) — John McCain’s challenge in winning the presidency isn’t unique. George H.W. Bush in 1988 and Al Gore in 2000 also struggled to chisel an identity separate from a two- term incumbent president of their party.

There’s one big difference: in 1988, Ronald Reagan had a 51 percent approval rating, according to Gallup surveys, and in 2000 Bill Clinton’s was 57 percent. Today, President George W. Bush’s rating is 28 percent and the leading House Republican political analyst, Virginia Representative Tom Davis, said the president is “absolutely radioactive” for party candidates, including McCain, the presumptive presidential nominee.

So why is the Arizona senator going to appear with Bush in Phoenix tonight for a closed-door fundraiser? McCain, whose fundraising totals are dwarfed by those of Democratic candidate Barack Obama, needs Bush to bring in money and signal to conservative Republicans that he can be trusted.

Is this the start of McCain’s hundred years of war?

Oh kids! Things are getting ugly on the other side of the aisle!

(CNN) — GOP front-runner John McCain is cruising into Super Tuesday with a hefty lead in the polls, but he’s drawing a backlash from some top conservatives who say he is too liberal to carry the Republican nomination.

Sen. John McCain has come under attack from conservatives who say is he too liberal.

Radio hosts Rush Limbaugh, Laura Ingraham, Hugh Hewitt and Lars Larson are among the conservative voices speaking out against the Arizona senator.

The attacks have gotten so heated that former Republican presidential nominee Bob Dole Monday wrote Limbaugh defending McCain.
